Power Skating–Youth (7-9 years)
Dennise Bowles of Power Unlimited brings years of experience and expertise. Balance, acceleration, agility, speed, explosive starts, edge control, break-away speed and game stride are all part of this challenging and rewarding program. Full gear required. All participants should be comfortable skaters.

Powerskating–Adults (16 yrs+)
This fun class allows you to improve your skating, passing, stick handling, shooting skills and ends with an informal scrimmage. Full gear is required. Brought to you by Power Unlimited Power Skating programs.
Registration for lessons will allow your child eight sessions which they can attend during the skating season to complete their registered level. Once the child has completed their skills they will be moved into the next level, and continue attending lessons when convenient.

Women’s Hockey Skills
Join the women’s hockey movement at Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre. Develop on-ice skills, stamina and understanding of the game in an encouraging environment. Each class will finish with a scrimmage. Full gear is mandatory. Participants will also be entered to win a pair of Royals tickets each class courtesy of the Zone and the Victoria Royals!

PRESCHOOL (3–5 years) Parent and Tot
First time skaters will get acquainted with the ice with an adult who is comfortable on skates. The instructor will provide parents with tools and skills to help their child learn the basics of skating such as: balancing on two feet, touching toes, marching, falling down and getting up! Participants must wear skates.
Pre-School Level 1
Lessons focus on building confidence while having fun on the ice. Participants will learn: balancing on two feet, touching toes, walking forwards, marching, and falling down and getting up. Children must be able to stand and get up and down on their own.
Pre-School Level 2
For children who can skate independently. Skills include: gliding, two foot jumps, making snow, and walking backwards. Prerequisite level 1
Pre-School Level 3
Skills will include: v-pushes, one foot gliding, two foot jump while gliding, walking backwards with some glide, two foot quarterturns on the spot, and stopping. Prerequisite level 2
Pre-School Level 4
At this final pre-school level children will learn skills including: two-foot glides on a curve, walking cross cuts, backward sculling, and backwards stopping. Prerequisite level 3
SCHOOL AGE (6-12 years) Learn to Skate 1 For children with little skating experience: forward gliding, marching forward, making snow, falling down and getting up, and walking backwards.

Learn to Skate 4
Skaters will learn skills including: two foot stop, forwards crosscuts, turning forwards to backwards and backwards to forwards, and two foot jump in a glide backwards. Prerequisite level 3
Learn to Skate 5
For independant skaters: forward sculling, one foot forward glides, stopping, walking backwards with some glide, and two foot half turns on the spot. Prerequisite: level 1 or preschool level 3.
Children will learn skills including: backwards Mohawk turn, two foot stop in both directions, one foot jump gliding forward, fast backwards start and fast forward start from back stop. Prerequisite level 4
Learn to Skate 3
Learn to Skate 6
Skaters will learn: one foot glides on a curve, forwards walking cross cuts, backwards skating and sculling, two foot backwards glide and snowplow stop. Prerequisite: level 2 or preschool level 4
An introduction to advanced skating skills, while continuing to focus and enhance acquired skills. Skaters can request specific skills to focus on with instructor supervision. Prerequisite level 5
