Are you looking for new ideas for textiles projects? Would you like to develop your skills and learn some new techniques? Are you concerned that students don’t have opportunities to develop basic life skills? Then this might be the course for you. We shall explore different equipment and project ideas, combining ICT and textiles in interesting and creative ways to enable you to inspire your colleagues and pupils.

On this course you will: • Design fabric on computer, print it out and then make a simple purse from it.

• Use the sun to print a design onto fabric. (weather permitting) • Use screen printing to print onto fabric. (There is an option to use the lasercutter to make a stencil.) • Explore electronic textiles...sewing a circuit with conductive thread and LEDs. • Use embellisher machines to create a fabric picture from waste. • make do and mend-using latch hooks to create rag rugs. • painting on bondaweb. • technique hour:an opportunity to explore lots of techniques and ideas.

SUNPRINT FABRIC

This is specially treated to change colour when subjected to UV light. An image can be created by covering part of the fabric with objects, protrecting those areas from the sun.
