MANAGER’S NOTES W
elcome to FC Kilmarnock Ladies, their staff, players and supporters for today’s game. Today is our final home game of what has been a long season. Having come out on top in both previous encounters with Killie this season, we can be proud to have got the better of the league's second placed side home and away. However, having won those two games also highlights the opportunities we have failed to capitalise on. Now, with two games left, both against top-two opposition, we have to aim for as good a finish as we can get to make up for the times we were off our game and didn't achieve what we wanted. If it sounds like I'm hyper critical of our season as a whole, I don't see it as doom and gloom. After all, we set out to finish in the top four, and that is still within our grasp. While EUHV are snapping out our heels, we need to be on our mettle to keep daylight between us and the bottom half of the table.
Jason McCrindle Manager
Both Rebecca McGowan and Hannah Clark have put in a lot of hard work, which has been rewarded by plenty of game time with us and recognised by the Scotland selectors. We strive to create an environment here at McDiarmid that lends itself to giving players like Hannah and Rebecca the platform on which to develop and a stage on which to perform at a high level. We're proud that this has been recognised with their inclusion in the squad. I hope you enjoy today’s game.
Turning to the reason for the recent break in the league – the UEFA WU19 European Championships Preparatory Tournament – it was absolutely fantastic to have two of our squad involved in the national team there. 21 October 2018 St. Johnstone Women FC vs FC Kilmarnock Ladies

SCOTLAND WU19 T
he club was proud to supply two players to the Scotland WU19 squad that took part in a preparatory tournament in advance of the UEFA WU19 European Championships, which will be held in Scotland next year. Hannah Clark (below) was called up for her first experience at this level, alongside fellow Saints star Rebecca McGowan (right). The squad played games against France, Spain and Denmark, and while none of the results went the Scots' way the players and coaches
alike gained valuable knowledge ahead of next year's competition. Congratulations to both Hannah and Rebecca – we're exceedingly proud of the way they represented the club during the preparatory tournament.

TODAY’S VISITORS FC Kilmarnock have left their mark on the Scottish Women's Football this season. Having gained promotion from the SWFL1 last season, Killie were a relatively unknown quantity at the beginning of the year. However, nobody who follows the league can have been left in any doubt about the team's credentials at this level following an excellent first season. Indeed, the future seems rosy for the Ayrshire club, with quality in evidence throughout its sides, especially at U13 level where two FC
Kilmarnock teams made the semi finals of the Scottish Cup.

DEVELOPMENT L
ast Sunday, Jeanfield Swifts Development played their final home game of the season in the SWFL2 East, welcoming East Fife Violet to Bute Drive. The home side completely dominated the first half, with by far the majority of both possession and territory. Nevertheless it took until 20 minutes before Megan Sidey drew a penalty, which she duly converted. Continuing to press, the
Swifts had to wait until the cusp of half time before their second goal went in, courtesy of Louise McClelland who had the simplest of tap ins from a superb Donna Shaw cross.
salmon-like diving header from a great cross by Eilidh Davies, but the ball ballooned over the bar. Tara Laughlin claimed a second on 59 minutes before East Fife started to come back into the game, with goals on 74 and 80 minutes. Olivia Revie restored the 3 goal advantage with a powerful right footed shot on 84 minutes and even though East Fife claimed a late goal with a couple of minutes to go, Swifts held on for a good 5-3 win.
In the second half, Swifts started brightly and within 2 minutes had added a third thanks to Tara Laughlin, who beat the defender and slotted the ball calmly past the keeper. A few moments later, Megan Sidey nearly grabbed her second with a 12 St. Johnstone Women FC vs FC Kilmarnock Ladies 21 October 2018
