Celestine Cook Robertson

, affectionally known as “Celeste” was born into this earthly world on June 11, 1952, given unto Pearline Cook Bowen and Earl Bowen. Celeste professed a Hope in Christ as her Lord & Savior at an early age at the Botts Chapel M.B. Church in Olive Branch, MS. She attended Brown Missionary Baptist Church until her health failed. Celeste was a graduate of the 1971 Class of Olive Branch High School. She furthered her education at Northwest Community College and attended LeMoyne-Owen College where she pledged Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc. She was a dedicated member of the East Side High School Alumni where she served faithfully until her death. She was united in Holy Matrimony in 1982 to Larry Robertson and remained united for twenty years until his passing in 2002. Celeste was employed by FedEx for thirty years where she held several different positions during her tenure until retirement. After retirement, Celeste became actively involved in Cook Transporation, where she was co-owner. Celeste fought a good fight, she finished her course, and she kept the faith. On Friday, June 2, 2017, at Emory Saint Joseph’s Hospital in Atlanta, GA, Celeste heard the call of her Savior, and she answered, thus completing her earthly journey. She was preceded in death by parents, Pearline Cook Bowen and Earl Bowen and a sister, Lorene Fifer. Celeste leaves to cherish her memory, a son, Cedric Cook; her special pup companion, Misty; six sisters, Jean Marr, Anita Cook-Wilder (Charlie), Gloria Cook, Jackie Cook, Angela Bowen, and Cathy Dorse (Cliff); seven brothers, Ozie Wright Jr., Rev. Jesse Maxwell (Lucille), David Cook, Alfred Cook (Irene), Fredrick Cook, Ronnie Bowen, Cecil Bowen (Hamidah), an aunt, Annie Cook; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends. The Lord replied, “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest.” Exodus 33:14

Waiting in the Light When you wake up tomorrow And grief takes your breath away Know that I watch over you And walk with you each day Though unseen, I stay close by We’re never far apart The love we shared gives testament To all, that’s in your heart I see the way you struggle now To hold your head up high I’ proud of you because I know How very hard you try I wish that I could hold you close And ease the pain you feel I want so much to talk to you And promise that you’ll heal One day you will see me again Once more within your sight I’ll be right here to walk you in I’m waiting in the light.

I Love You Son

Our Sister An Eternal Memory....

....Until We Meet Again Those special memories of you will always bring a smile If only we could have you back for just a little while Then we could sit and talk again just like we used to do you always meant so very much and always will do too The fact that you’re no longer here will always cause me pain but you’re forever in my heart until we meeet again.
