Dorothy Jean “Baby Sister” Marlow

– was born September 4, 1939, in Yazoo, Mississippi to the late Mr. and Mrs. Edward and Martha Ingram. On June 12, 1964, Dorothy married Charlie Marlow, Sr. to that union six beautiful children were raised. She graduated from Booker T. Washington High School class of 1957. She was employed with John Gaston (Region One) Hospital for 27 years and retired from the City of Memphis in 2012. She was a faithful and dedicated, Life Time member of The St. Peter M.B. Church, she served as Chairmen of the Hospitality Committee, Adult Choir Director, Women Mission, Supt. of the Sunday School, and was actively serving as Assistant Superintendent of the Sunday School until she transitioned to her new home. She also was a faithful member of the Tennessee Regular B.M.&E state convention where she was certified Dean and was also the President of the state choir. She Served as the secretary of the Shelby County District Association. Director for the J.D. Jamerson district choir, member of the James Cleveland Workshop choir (Memphis Chapter), and The Tennessee Regular B.M.&E. State Choir. She was proceeded in death by Husband – Charlie Marlow, Sr. Father -Edward Ingram, Mother – Martha Ingram and her son Keith S. Ingram, she leaves to cherish her precious memories One brother James Ingram (Emily) of Valdosta, Ga, one step-sister Carol Phillips (Floyd) of Florida, five children Cedric D. Ingram (Sandra) of Philadelphia, PA., Charlie Marlow, Jr. Kevelyn P. Marlow, Lisa T. Marlow, and Dr. Sharli K. Adair, a Daughter in law Lana Ingram of Oxnard, CA, twelve grandchildren- Ebonee’, Marcia (Jaspierre), Ivi, Elite, Goddess, Noble, Regal, Cedric, Jr, Jonathan, Stevani, Stevan, and Shelby. Five great-grandchildren- Madisan, Morgeian, Eben, Jaspierre, Jr. and Jayceon, one aunt, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, St. Peter church family, BTW classmates, and friends.

~The Living Memorial ~

A Tree will be planted in a National Forest as a Living Memorial to Dorothy Jean Marlow. This service is offered by Harrison’s Memorial Chapel, Inc. through Batesville Casket Company, the United States Forest Service and Ontario Canada’s Grand Valley Conservation Foundation.
