23 Psalm

The Lord is my Shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for His name’ sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: For thou art with me; Thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; Thou annointest my head with oil; My cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the House of the Lord forever.

A Grandmother Just Like You I just want to let you know You mean the world to me. Only a heart as dear as yours Would give so unselfishly. the many things you’ve done All the times that you were there Help me know deep down inside How much you really care. Even though I might not say I appreciate all you do Richly blessed is how I feel Having a grandmother just like you.

Diary of Life Today, we celebrate the life and legacy of Ella Turner Johnson. The daughter of the late Jesse Turner and Mary Martin Turner earned her wings on Saturday, August 26, 2017. God required a genuine and faithful servant, so, he gently whispered to the sweetest Saint of God he could find sleeping, Ella Turner Johnson. On July 18, 1926, God spoke into existence two beautiful baby girls. Ella and Della Turner. Della passed a few days after birth. Ella professed her hope in Christ at an early age; she passionately pursued to be about her father’s business; praying, witnessing, serving and encouraging others. Ella was a homemaker and a home body. She entered into holy matrimony with Jerry Johnson on Mother’s Day in 1943. In this union, six children were born. Mary Jane the first only lived a few days. Both Jerry and Ella served as Ushers at Macedonia M. B. Church in Marks, MS for years until Jerry’s death in January 1966. After Jerry’s death, the family moved to Memphis the summer of 1968. At that junction, they joined with the family of Greater New Salem M B. Church. Ella became a member of the Usher Board, and the Salem Circle Club, later to become a Red Cross Usher. She was preceded in death by her mom, Mary Martin Turner, her father, Jesse Turner, two sisters, Rosie Deals, Lena Bell Eggerson, one brother Leroy Steele and one son, Thomas James Johnson, (Mary Louise). She leaves to cherish her sweet memories and to continue her legacy: four children; Jerry Johnson, Jr.; Annie Henderson; Dorothy Johnson; and Willie C. Johnson, Sr. a daughter-in-law Mary Louise Johnson; one sister, Annie Bell Wicks; seven (7) grandchildren; Shirley Moore, Jerry Johnson; Montriett Johnson, Tomonique Johnson; Tonya Thomas White; Anthony Johnson (Temika), Michelle Johnson; Willie C. Johnson, Jr.; and Raven Johnson; 11 great-grandchildren and four (4) great-great grandchildren, two special adopted grand children, Adrian Stitt and Robert Kelly, and a host of other relatives and friends.
