va Williams Downey was born March 10, 1954, in Senatobia, MS. Eva was born to Lou Ida Williams and T. Dandridge. She attended Senatobia High School in Tunica, MS.
She accepted Christ at an early age in Mississippi and attended St. Peter Missionary Baptist Church in Memphis, Tennessee Eva was married to Vernon L. Downey, who loved her dearly. She took great pride in being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Eva enjoyed life and lived her life to the fullest. Eva took pride in caring for the family and her home. Her favorite hobbies were going to the casino, relaxing at home with the family, and watching one of the game shows she was most fond of, Wheel of Fortune! Eva worked and retired from La Baguette French Bread and Pastry in early 2020. She loved her job and took great pride in being a supervisor. Eva’s loving memories will be cherished by her husband, Vernon L. Downey, four children, Cassandra Williams, Marsha Williams, Robert Shepard and, Veronica Downey, and four step-children. Also, to mourn her passing, she leaves a sister, Lois Hill (Reginald), and two brothers, William Sanders and James Crawford (Marsha) and eight grandchildren. Eva also leaves a host of family and friends to cherish her memory and time on earth.

Your smile alone warmed hearts Your laugh was like music to hear I would give absolutely anything To have you well and standing near. Not a second passes When you’re not on our minds Your love we will never forget The hurt will ease in time.
