My Sweet Angel My memory of you will never fade. Your infectious laughter, your beautiful smile, and our daily cuddles are everlasting memories that I will forever cherish. My love for you, my sweet baby is eternal. Grayson, your loving brother, now has a guardian angel who will forever guide him through life, as do I. We love you Gavin. As your Mother, my heart aches. I have comfort in knowing that one day we will see each other again. Rest well, my sweet baby. I need you, but the Lord all mighty needs you more. You are now in the company of your Grandpa Jack, cousin Vincent, D.I. and many others who will give you the hugs and love that I can no longer “physically” express. I pray that you are at your happiest because now sweet baby you are an angel. Rest well Gavin and don’t fret. Your “Mommae” will always love you.

Gavin Reid Settles
born April 7th, of 2013, in Memphis, Tennessee to Gari and Jacquelyne Settles.
Gavin left his earthly home and went to run and play with the Angels on August 19, 2017. Gavin was nothing short of amazing! Although Gavin left this earth way too soon, he brought all that knew him so much joy. Friends and family enjoyed his bright and bubbling personality. Gavin was Christened at the age of eleven months and was a vibrant and talented young boy, who loved to play with his baby brother, Grayson. They enjoyed lots of sports car racing, birthday parties, and recreational activities at the school as well as in the community. A budding scholar, Gavin attended Great Expectations Preparatory Academy at the age of three. Holy Rosary Catholic School welcomed Gavin as a Pre-K student at age four, and there he would join his first Soccer team (#36). Gavin was preceded in death by his grandfather, Jack Raymond Childress. Gavin leaves to cherish his memories, his loving and devoted parents, Gari and Jacquelyne Settles, a baby brother, Grayson Riley Settles. Grandparents, Gregory and Sylvia Settles, and Rena Childress. Great Grandparents, Alice Coley Patrick and Fannie Thompson. An Uncle, Gregory Settles along with his wife Tammy, and an Aunt, Shawndra Childress. Also a host of cousins, other relatives, and friends.

My first nephew, a precious little angel You changed my life the day you were born. You left with out saying goodbye, “Missing you Gavin” God only knows why. Now that you’re not here to share my life each day, In life I loved you dearly, I feel sadness in my heart that will not go away. In death I love you still. When the sun goes down and evening starts to fall is In my heart you hold a place when my arms long for you and miss you most of all. nobody else will ever fill.
