uella “Lucy” Johnson Blackmon was born December 14, 1944, to the late Fred and Gertrude McCray. She departed this life on September 25, 2020.

Luella gave her life to Christ at an early age and was a member of New Salem Missionary Baptist Church (Parkway) under the leadership of Dr. Frank E. Ray, Sr. Luella was retired from the Internal Revenue Service after 33 years of service. Luella leaves precious memories to a loving, caring husband, Robert Blackmon, Sr., four children, Katherine Pratcher, Patrice Terrell, Melrita (Kevin) Shegog, and Samuel Echols, III as well as a mother to Beverly Brown and Alfreda (Marlavious) Lofties, three stepchildren, Robert (Jackie) Blackmon, Jr., Tracey (Donald) Blackmond and Stacey “Pete” (Lashell Blackmon, one sister Bernice Carter, eleven grandchildren, eighteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild and a host of nieces nephews, cousins, and friends.

God Saw God saw the road was getting rough. The Hills were hard to climb. He gently closed those living eyes and whispered, “Come be Mine”. The weary hours, the days of pain, the sleepless nights are passed. The worn out frame has has found sweet rest at last...We will see your loving face in that Peaceful never-ending tomorrow. Love the family
