Malcolm Patrick Childress, Jr. was born July 30, 1978, to the late Patricia Lynn Franklin and the late Malcolm Childress. Malcolm departed this life on July 16, 2019, at his home. He loved and cherished his mother and Aunt Daphne. Anyone that knew him will remember his gentle spirit and sweet smile. He was preceded in death by his devoted paternal grandmother, Hattie Childress. Malcolm leaves to cherish his memory his brother Cartious (LeKesia) Franklin, five nieces, and one nephew, his maternal grandmother, Eva Jackson; uncles, Calvin Franklin, Jr., Darron Franklin, Stephen Franklin (India), Tracy Franklin (Deborah) and Calvin Franklin, III; aunts, Daphne Haliburton-Winfrey (Clarence), Joyce Franklin-Smith and Shawn Gonzalez (Isaac); and a host of cousins, relatives and friends.
God saw the road was getting rough The hills were hard to climb He gently closed my loving eyes and whispered “Peace Be Thine” The weary hours and days of pain The sleepless nights have passed the ever patient, worn-out frame has found sweet rest at last. “Do not let your hearts be troubled. You believe in God; believe also in me. My Father’s house has many rooms; if that were not so, would I have told you that I am going there to prepare a place for you? And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come back and take you to be with me that you also may be where I am.”
