Mayflower Campbell “And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes: and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be any more pain: for the former things are passed.” Revelations 21:4

Mrs. Mayflower (Hodge) Hardaway Campbell passed away peacefully at home on June 14th, 2021. She was born in Saulsbury, TN, on April 6th, 1937, to the late Dave Hodge Sr. and late Grace Joy Hodge. She was the fourth of ten children. She was known to her siblings as the “Mother-hen.” Always the leader, they thought she knew the answers to everything. She attended school at Pleasant Hill High School in Saulsbury, TN. The family moved to Memphis, TN, in January 1951, where they settled in the Orange Mound neighborhood. At an early age, Mrs. Mayflower Campbell accepted Christ, and later in life, she renewed that faith. She was known as a “prayer warrior” for Christ. Raised in a close family with love, she loved the Lord and her family unconditionally. She was a former member of Divine Temple C.O.G.I.C. under the leadership of the late Elder Robert Suell. She could often be found praying for others, reading her bible, cooking something delicious, decorating, or working in the yard. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her parents, spouses (Isaiah Hardaway Sr. and Walter Campbell Sr.), daughter Barbara Marble Henderson, grandson Leonardo Hardaway, and siblings (Will T. Mason, Dave Hodge Jr., Levone Hodge, Callie H. Clark, and Elma H. Anderson). Her loving memories will be cherished by her remaining family. She leaves behind three sons Isaiah Hardaway Jr., Willie Joe Hardaway, and Leon Hardaway. Four siblings Juanita H. Smith, Ruby H. (Lonnie) Thomas, Devone Hodge, and Jimmie L. Hodge. Grandsons Kenneth Horton, Prince Hardaway, Kevin Hardaway, Joseph Hardaway (whom she raised), Meko Hardaway, Barry Vanderable (whom she raised), Kahri Henderson, and Khir Henderson. She also leaves behind sixteen great-grandchildren, a god-daughter (Charlene Stewart), two brothers-in-law, and a number of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
