ichael Earl Cowan was born April 22, 1969, to Shirley Baptist and J.C. Cowan. His mother, Shirley, preceded him in death.
Michael accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a member of Riverside Baptist Church, where he served as the pastor’s Armor Bearer. Michael was a graduate of Westwood High School. He was a cement truck driver for Mississippi Materials. Michael was a die-hard Dallas Cowboy Fan; he loved grilling and playing Dominoes even more. Michael took flight from this earthly life Wednesday, February 3, 2021. Michael’s memories will be cherished by his devoted wife Tammy Cowan, his two sons Michael D. (Ashley) and Terrell Cowan, three grandsons, DeWayne, Michael, and Adonis Cowan. His father, J.C. Cowan, sisters, Alice (Ben) Brown, Iberdella Taylor, Barbara Taylor and Arleatha (Kevin) Weaver, brothers, Stevie Bounds, Eddie Cowans, David Cowan, Tony (Keisha) Henderson, Jerry (Quilla) Cowan, Darrell Cowan, and Travis Cowan. Mother-in-laws Dorothy (Stanley) Jones, and Sheila Whiting, sister-in-laws, Dawn Malone, Tessie Whiting, Ashley Jones, brother-in-laws, Stanley (Valerie) Jones, Pedro Whiting, Philip (Sarah) Whiting, Johnny (Vanessa) Whiting. A special aunt Faye Merriweather, a special cousin Jerry Price, and a host of other relatives and friends.
I wish I could see you one more time, Come walking through the door... But I know that is impossible, I will hear your voice no more. I know you can feel my tears And you don’t want me to cry, Yet my heart is broken because I can’t understand why someone So precious had to die.
