Life’s Reflections R oy Glenn May, a gift from God, was born in Marshall, Texas, from the blessed marriage of parents Will Roy and
Connie May. He was raised and brought up in the fear of the Lord that led him to Christ at Beulah Baptist Church in Orange Mound. Prior to Roy’s death, Roy reaffirmed his place in eternity when he renewed and confessed his faith through a prayer of Salvation. Roy never ever met a stranger and was loved by family and friends in Texas and in Tennessee when his family moved there. Roy graduated from Melrose High School (class of 1971), where he was a proud member of the marching band. He attended Tennessee State University and later served in the U.S. Navy and Army. On January 21, 2022, Roy passed away suddenly without warning, and his death has left all his family, friends, and all that had the blessing of knowing him in absolute dismay. However, Roy’s family is left with the keepsake of a lifetime of memories and their faith and hope in God, and the love of each other and friends with help them navigate through their tremendous loss. Roy poured his heart and soul into his work, and all the people Roy worked with absolutely admired him. There truly wasn’t anything that Roy couldn’t do; he was a genius. Roy touched everybody’s lives and made it a point to make all those he encountered feel so important and special. He showed up when it mattered, had your back, gave to those in need, and would defend and stand up for his loved ones should the need for it arise. He kept us safe. Most recently, Roy’s favorite pastime was watching movies, and absolutely love watching them with his only brother-inlaw, Angelo Hamilton, son Dorian Reynolds and his brother, Wilfred May. Roy is preceded in death by his parents. Roy is survived by and leaves to cherish his memory: his Son, Dorian Reynolds, three grandchildren: Destiny Reynolds, Dorian Reynolds Jr., and Dionna Sharp, and one great-grandchild, Harmony Townsend; Two Sisters, Attorney Myra May Hamilton ( husband, Angelo Hamilton) and Opal May Simmons and one brother Wilfred May; his only beloved niece, Ashley Watkins, nephews Alex Simmons, Van Simmons (wife Olga) Imani Simmons (wife Nikki), great niece Oksana Simmons and Cora Simmons, and great-nephew William Simmons, Elijah Simmons as well as his aunts, uncles and beloved cousins and friends with special mention to Johnnie and Mrs. Richmond in Orange Mound.

“You never said I’m leaving; you never said goodbye. You were gone before we knew it, and only God knew why. A million times we needed you, a million times we cried. If love alone could have saved you, you never would have died. In life, we loved you dearly; in death, we love you still. In our hearts, you hold a place that no one could ever fill. It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn’t go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God took you home.” Author Unknown.
