The Blessed Life of Mrs. Viola Campbell Jones
iola Campbell Jones was the youngest of eleven children born to the loving parents of R.D. and Alberta Campbell. She was born in West Helena, Arkansas, on August 19, 1930. After her mother Alberta Campbell passed, her father remarried to Hattie Wells. Her family grew with one adoptive sister and one adoptive brother and five birthed to the union of her stepmother and father. Beginning her young adult life in Forrest City, Arkansas, Viola met and married Mr. Eddie Jones in 1949. Viola and Eddie birthed four beautiful children in their union. Believing that God was pivotal in her life, she united with Lane Chapel CME Church and was insistent that her children grow up knowing God. She was a long time member before moving away. Her life was kept busy as a wife and a working Mother. Viola worked at a sewing factory called Reltoc Manufactory Company, until the unfortunate passing of her beloved husband in 1978. After his transition, Viola desired a need to be closer to family and moved to Milwaukee, Wisconsin, where her sister and son resided. In Milwaukee, Viola was gainfully employed by Hearthside Rehabilitation Center. During her employment with Hearthside Rehabilitation Center, she was recognized and presented an award for her outstanding and dedicated service for 15 years, where she retired. After her retirement, Viola wanted to be near her daughters and grandchildren and decided to move to Memphis, TN, in 1998. After her move to Memphis, Viola adjusted swiftly. She became an active and dedicated member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church-Westwood, under the leadership of Dr. James L. Netters, Sr. She devoted her love to God as a Greeter, a member of the August Birth Month fellowship, and working during vacation bible school, until her Alzheimer’s progressed. Physically attending church became more challenging for her; however, her love for God never ceased, and you would often hear her singing hymns of the gospel throughout her home. Viola has gracefully battled her fight with Alzheimer’s for the past 15 years and peacefully transitioned to her heavenly home on July 27, 2020, surrounded by her family. The family is at peace knowing that all of her loving siblings born to the first union, and her beloved grandson Jason have been watching over her from heaven, and now they are joined together again. She is survived by her four children, Marilyn (Gregory) Jackson, Velma (Clarence) Dickson, Betty (Theodis, Jr.) Warren and Eddie Jones Jr. (Vicky-special friend), her grandchildren Derrick (Erica), Gregory Scott, Michael, and Jakayla, along with her great-grandchildren Evan and Elias Jackson, her surviving siblings Christine Campbell, Blanche Mary Campbell, Dana Campbell (Contessa), Raymond Campbell (Iris), Willie Bell Campbell and Jimmy Lee Campbell and a host of nieces and nephews of which existed a special bond with her nephew Rev. Govan Campbell.

Recessional
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Psalms 23
A Tribute to Our Mother “Two Mothers Remembered” By Joann Snow Duncanson
I had two Mothers – two Mothers I claim Two different people, yet with the same name. Two separate women, diverse by design, But I loved them both because they were mine. The first was the Mother who carried me here, Gave birth and nurtured and launched my career. She was the one whose features I bear, Complete with the facial expressions I wear. She gave me her love, which follows me yet, Along with the examples in life that she set. As I got older, she somehow younger grew, And we’d laugh as just Mothers and daughters should do. But then came the time that her mind clouded so, And I sensed that the Mother I knew would soon go. So quickly she changed and turned into the other, A stranger who dressed in the clothes of my Mother. Oh, she looked the same, at least at arm’s length, But now she was the child and I was her strength. We’d come full circle, we women three, My Mother the first, the second and me. And if my own children should come to a day, When a new Mother comes and the old goes away, I’d ask of them nothing that I didn’t do. Love both of your Mothers as both have loved you. Love you always Madear - Forever in our Hearts & Memories Marilyn, Velma, Betty and Eddie
A Tribute to Our Grandmother “They Say There Is a Reason” They say there is a reason, They say that time will heal, But neither time nor reason, Will change the way we feel, For no-one knows the heartache, That lies behind our smiles, No-one knows how many times, We have broken down and cried, We want to tell you something, So there won’t be any doubt, You’re so wonderful to think of, But so hard to be without. We love you alwaysDerrick, Erica, Scott, Michael, and Jakayla
A Tribute to Our Great Grandmother “A Broken Chain”
The chain was broken before we got to know you. Before we got to tell you all the things we like to do. You took a trip to heaven, too far away to visit. My name is Evan, I am six years old My favorite character is Spider-Man. My brother’s name is Elias, he is one year old. Although you met him, he may not remember you, but I will. When I look, I know that we were special to you. The memories you have left behind will be repeated over and Over again by our parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles and cousins And we will carry your legacy until the chain is linked again in heaven. Your Great Grandsons Evan and Elias Jackson
