MAKE IT A
MEMBER-ABLE YEAR If you’re in need of a laugh comedian Mark Watson is touring his funniest show yet and we’re really looking forward to Dirty Dusting; a feel good comedy about three ‘mature’ cleaning ladies who start up their own sex chat line. To mark the centenary of World War I, we are presenting two very poignant pieces of theatre in our Studio; Michael Morpurgo’s Private Peaceful and A November Day, created by Thingumajig Theatre Company in association with the Imperial War Museum North. We will remember them. For this year’s International Air Display we will be swinging with Chris Dean’s Syd Lawrence Orchestra and, later in September, Toploader will play here live. Also this season, we welcome back Albert Lee, Hats Off to Led Zeppelin, Talon: The Best of Eagles, and UK Pink Floyd Experience with their bigger show, The Pulse Tour, complete with backing vocals, saxophones and a fantastic light show. We have something for all the family with Sing-a-Long-a Frozen; the interactive version of the Disney animation film, plus we bring you the classic Rudyard Kipling tale, The Jungle Book. 2
www.jerseyoperahouse.co.uk
Our increasingly popular screenings this season include Stephen Fry: More Fool Me, Monty Python Live (mostly), Treasure Island, and classic operas; Madama Butterfly, Carmen and Le Nozze di Figaro. A lot to remember, so why not become a member? As a Friend of Jersey Opera House you will be regularly updated and reminded about what’s on. For as little as £35 per year you will receive lots of benefits and you will be supporting Jersey Opera House; a non-profit making organisation. Be one of our friends and get more from the arts! Jasmine Hendry Theatre Director
A SOUND INVESTMENT Theatregoers who require hearing assistance can now benefit from our updated sound system in the auditorium, thanks to a generous donation from Lloyds Bank Foundation for the Channel Islands. The new installation is reliable, ensuring that the sound in the auditorium is much clearer and the coverage far greater. Hear for yourself!
SNACK HAPPY! We are looking for local artists and photographers to exhibit at OH! Cafébar. The monthly exhibitions in our eatery have been hugely popular, with many exhibitors selling their work. The gallery space is free of charge and gets a great footfall of café customers and theatregoers. If you’re interested contact admin@jerseyoperahouse.co.uk And don’t forget OH! Cafébar is open for breakfast, lunch, afternoon tea and pre-show suppers, starting from £14.50 for 2 courses. Book now – (01534) 511 106.
