LTG’S NOTE

HAPPY LATE HOLIDAYS AND NEWS YEARS EVERYONE <33 i hope everyone is safe since the pandemic grows more alarming. Our manatees never fail to amaze me through the hard work, dedication, and passion for KIWIN’S and others. Every month our numbers continue to grow and I can’t wait to see what we can accomplish by the end of my term (around a month to go!) it seems almost like yesterday that i was just elected but i continue to cherish every event and experience i get to meet our lovely members. I am so happy to see everyone come to the December DCM with D04N and D04W while also showing off your amazing ice skating skills :)) i hope to see you all soon, on zoom or in person! PRESIDENT’ Since the last DCM, Edison held participated in three events. On December 5th we volunteered at the Resolution Run where we helped to set up the marathon, pass out medals and supplies, and clean up. We held a Rose Float Seminar where we advertised the event to people around the school and answered questions about details and admission, this was on the 18th of December. And on December 28th, we brought 24 members to the Rose Float Decorating Event with the rest of Jet Division and spent our time decorating floats, preparing flowers, and moving supplies. Overall we accumulated 281 hours in the last month! Thank you! edison howdy howdy kiwis! roger here! since the last update, FV KIWIN’S has been VERY busy. we’ve held EIGHT service events, including our Car Wash Fundraiser with FV Make a Wish on November 27, Tree Lighting on December 3-5 where members helped set up and take down the annual Tree Lighting at Mile Square Park, Founders Village Holliday Fundraiser at our local senior center on December 5, Cookies with Mrs. Claus on December 10, Christmas at the Gazebo on December 11, Colette’s Children Home Drive from November 19 to December 17 where members donated gifts to children in need, our 13 Days of KIWIN’S-mas where every day had a different virtual volunteer opportunity, and Rose Float Decorating with the district! we also held our Winter Social with LQ KIWIN’S on December 22, which was SUPER fun. in terms of fundraising, our Car Wash Fundraiser raised over $300 for UNICEF, surpassing our UNICEF goal! in total, we’ve garnered just under 800 service hours. thank you!

’S CORNER We have not done anything this month, but we are hoping to start up our board applications and find more community service events.

los amigos Hi Manatees! During the month of December, Marina KIWIN’S served 350 hours through volunteering at several service events. We first volunteered in collaboration with HB Kiwanis at Shop4Hope, where we helped kids shop for holiday gifts, and at Bunny’s Kids, where we assembled care packages for the homeless. We also went Christmas caroling, raising $130 for UNICEF in the process. Finally, we participated in the annual district Rose Floats event and held KIWIN’S Appreciation Week where we made appreciation notes, cards, and posters for our members, teachers, and advisors :) marina this month, OCSA KIWIN’s held its last club and board meetings of the year. we held three events this month — two were online (cranes for cancer and beans for the hungry). we held a joint in-person event with our school’s national honor society to clearn up rosie’s dog beach. we also collected dues and will be sending them in soon. happy holidays and happy new year!

ocsa since the last newsletter , segerstrom KIWIN’S members have participated in the orange county rescue mission where we helped the event run at the luminaria ceremony. our members have also been volunteering at santa ana kiwanis see’s candy sales where we worked with kiwanian members to raise money for our sponsoring kiwanis clubs . finally, we held a krispy kreme fundraiser at our school’s winter fest, raising about $100 to our club funds. we are currently planning more volunteer opportunities for our members, but are very excited for the new semester. thank you! segerstrom
