Heyyy manatees!! This is one of your three amazing bulletin editors here, and I want to first thank you for taking the time to read through all of this. It was a lot of time and dedication on my part and I’m very thankful for yall. I also want to say that I am SO EXCITED for this upcoming term, we have so much potential for great leaders and lifelong friendships within this ohana. Keep up the great work serving our community manatees! Ava Baker, Jet Division KIWIN’S Co-Bulletin Editor 2022-2023

Hey kiwis! Congrats on making it through your finals weeks and the second month of term!! With a full DLT installed, I couldn’t be more ecstatic to see where this term takes us!! I hope y’all have a smooth sailing summer with loads of fun, smiles, and of course…KIWIN’S SPIRIT!! School may be behind us, but KIWIN’S provides all you members opportunities to serve all year around. Be on the lookout from each of your individual clubs social media platforms on ways to get involved!! I understand having the motivation to get out of bed to attend events may not be the easiest. This summer I would like to challenge yall to put yourselves out there and attend those summer events!! During the summer, one loves to hangout with their friends, but you know what sounds pretty cool? Being with your friends AND performing acts of SERVICE with your OHANA ♡ Some big things are coming up, including divisional committee applications along with Jet Banquet. I am so excited to honor our seniors and past term, along with celebrate our way into the new term!! I have so many exciting things planned for our upcoming months. I hope y’all are all staying safe and healthy, and I can’t wait to see y’all there! Yours in service, Jessica Nguyen, Jet Division KIWIN’S Lieutenant Governor 2022-2023

Live2Learn Major Emphasis This hands-on initiative promotes education and literacy skills for children, specifically those between the ages of 5 to 9 years old. It focuses on serving children to create strong educational foundations based on literacy and social skills.

Pediatric Trauma Program (PTP) Minor Emphasis In collaboration with our Cal-Nev-Ha Kiwanis, this program dedicates itself to protecting children from pediatric trauma. Pediatric trauma affects children from infancy to the age of nineteen. It can be the result of anything from drowning accidents, falls, animal bites, etc. It is the leading cause of death in children in the United States.

Thirst Project Governor’s Project This project's aim is to bring safe drinking water to communities around the world where it is not immediately available. They hope to end the global water crisis by building fresh water wells in developing communities that need safe, clean drinking water.

– – – CORNER – – – Edison Within the past month of June, Edison KIWIN’S has held a lei fundraiser where we had made ribbon graduation leis to sell and congratulate the graduating seniors of 2022. Additionally, Edison KIWIN’S had attended the Jet Olympics where we had participated in a series of fun activities and games.

Fountain Valley Howdy kiwis! In the month of June, we’ve done so much by participating in a few service events and fundraisers! We helped out at our local elementary's’ carnival—managing booths and bouncy houses—and at Summerfest where we helped around the main stage. In total, we reached 270.75 hours this month!! We also held out very first fundraiser of the term at Poki Poki and sold lychee and strawberry flavored calpico at the Jet DCM. All the money raised went back to our club funds and we are just getting started! We look forward to all our upcoming events in July :))

Garden Grove For the month of june, garden grove KIWIN’S participated in a joint painting in the park social with LQ and Los Amigos. There, members participated in a fundraiser by painting either a tote bag or a canvas and participated in a water balloon fight. Unfortunately, uncontrollable circumstances limited our ability to host any other service event or fundraiser.

La Quinta HEY KIWINNER’S! This month, LQ KIWIN’S finalized our entire board and we kicked off the summer with our very successful first social of the term with Garden Grove and Los Amigos. Our board members also volunteered multiple shifts at Summerfest where we helped our sponsoring Kiwanis run yummy roasted corn and potato booths. As for the future, we have a fundraiser at 7 Leaves Brookhurst on 7/8 and loads of fun events planned this summer such as Concert in the Park, National Movie Night Out, Great FV Campout, and more. Hope to see you there!

Los Amigos HEYOO KIWIS! For the past two months, Los Amigos has been able to officiate our board and slowly trying to build our goals for next year. Next year we hope to have at least 30 paid members with a service event at least every month. Continuing with our comeback, we tried to return to the KIWIN’S community by having a painting social with Garden Grove and La Quinta, which was successful. Our board is continuing to plan fundraisers throughout the Summer. Our first Summer fundraiser will be on July 9th, 2022 from 8 AM-8 PM at 15491 Brookhurst St, Westminster CA, soooo GO BUY SOME PLEASE, AND TAG @lahskiwins. Another fundraiser you should look forward to would be our club selling cookies and brownies at the July Banquet each for $1!!We would love the support! Lastly, our board has been preparing for the club rush and new reconstructed social media platforms.

Marina Hi Kiwis! This is Amy Do, Marina KIWIN’S president! For the month of June, our board has worked hard to finally adjust to their position and release some amazing events to our members. First, we had our Eastwood Carnival, and it was so fun to help the elementary kids have fun during their last few days of school. In addition, we worked to raise money from our punch and crunch fundraiser as well as raising money to charity via our new charity miles event. I’m hoping for a continuing successful term for our club <3

OCSA Helloo everyone! Our board group chat is up and active, however, most of the board is on vacation right now so communication has been a bit of an issue. The board is also slowly getting into the group chats and Facebook messenger contacts. Currently, not many members are active in the club, and we have few actually attending meetings. Because seniors mostly made up the club, we are unsure of the total member count. The social media coordinator has now received login access to all our accounts and will be running them - they have plans to redesign the Instagram layout to attract more people to the club. The board and I plan to sort out throughout club rush sign-ups once more and filter out/add people to the google classroom when the school year starts.

Segerstrom In June, Segerstrom KIWIN’S had a beach cleanup with Surfrider. We had our first board meeting as well.
