Heyyy Manatees! I hope that all of you are enjoying this holiday season so far. This is the time of year to be thankful for those around you, such as family and friends, while also giving back to the community through service. Thankfully we had Thanksgiving break to do so while also relaxing, and for my fellow seniors- getting those college applications done! It’s a relief to get work completed so being productive through breaks is important :)) Make sure you all are taking care of yourselves and staying stafe! Thank you for checking out this month’s newsletter, love yall.

Edison
During the month of November, Edison KIWIN’S not only volunteered at a local elementary school’s movie night, but collaborated with Marina and HB Community KIWIN’s for an Ice Skating Fundraiser on November 11. Collectively we raised over $300. Following our Ice Skating Fundraiser, Edison collaborated with Marina, Fountain Valley, and HB Community KIWIN’S for our annual Friendsgiving on November 21st.
Fountain Valley
What’s good what’s good :p In November, FV KIWIN’S released winter committee applications and families for members to join. We participated in fall rally south and light the night, in which members had an enjoyable time. We also collaborated with Marina, Edison, and HB community KIWIN’S to have our annual friendsgiving. Moving into december, on Dec. 2, we had our ice skating fundraiser for $15 and on Dec. 3, we volunteered at the FV rec center for tree lighting. FV garnered 40 hours for November and we anticipate lots of service events and fundraisers for December.
Garden Grove
For the month of November, Garden Grove KIWIN’S decided to center the focus on attracting more members and getting dues paid on time. Here we spent time advertising and creating flyers to inform potential members on the benefits of joining the club. Due to college app season, our board has been pretty occupied but we are planning more online events like our upcoming dream lab event that will be taking place all month in order to help members earn community service hours during this busy time. Thank you!
Huntington Beach
Hi, kiwis! For the month of November, HB Community held a fishing derby service project and closed our Cranes for a Cure service project, as well. We’ve been preparing for our December Bake Sale fundraiser — you should come out and try some of our world famous cinnamon buns on December 3rd, made by our very own board! That’s all for this month, so far.
La Quinta
This month, LQ KIWIN’S has been hard at work fundraising for dcon to subsidize the costs for our members. We had our candy sales where board members sold a variety of sour candies around campus and we sold chow mein and orange chicken at our school’s fall fest. Aside from fundraising, we also volunteered at the long beach turkey trot, had a blast at fall rally south, and held a small board social over the break to bond.
Los Amigos
Los Amigos KIWIN’S has been able to raise $150 from our fundraiser selling egg rolls. We are able to have three service events at the end of the month, with around 10 members going to each. Overall Los Amigos had a successful November :)
Marina
Hello! This November has certainly been eventful with all the events we had over the course of the month. From November 14th - 15th, we hosted a Meet Fresh Fundraiser so our members could have a warm treat for the cold winter. We also had an exciting ice skating social with Edison and HB KIWIN’S where there were 100 attendees that came together and showed that ohana spirit. We also had a Friendsgiving with FV and Edison KIWIN’S that brought many people together. Over Thanksgiving break, we hosted a Bunny’s kids drive and a Color-a-Smile event so members could continue to serve the community when even if they are on break! Overall, November has been a great month full of opportunities and bonding!
OCSA
Hey everyone! For the month of November, OCSA KIWIN’s focused on receiving club dues after fall rally. In our general meeting, we included some virtual volunteer opportunities including a Beans for the Hungry event. Members answer questions and receive points that are converted to money for those in need. We also had our usual monthly beach clean up on November 19th. We are in the process of talking to our schools admin team to be able to set up fundraisers since OCSA has strict policies around it. We really want to emphasize our club during our second club rush coming up next semester as well. Our board recently had our club health check where we got some tips on keeping meetings fun. We plan to use these tips and make our next meeting in early December better than ever with games and more service opportunities!!
Segerstrom
Hi KIWIS!! For the month of November, Segerstrom KIWIN’S helped volunteer at an organization called Someone Cares Kitchen. They were holding many events for Thanksgiving that fed those in need of care. We were assigned with assisting in cooking, unloading, packing, and serving food items. The next event that we will be doing is Jingle Bell Run. We will help support the fundraiser by helping out the festival, setting up the course, and distributing food and beverages. I hope we will have many members participate!!!
