THE COLOR RUN M MIC ICH HAE AELL N NG GU UYYEEN N| | EED DIISSO ON NH HSS It’s been quite an eventful month for Edison KIWIN’S. It was filled with hard work and most importantly, a family fun atmosphere for everybody to enjoy! One of the most notable events of the month was the Huntington Beach Color run of 2017. On Oct. 7th, it was 6AM, we all arrived early in the morning at Huntington State Beach and checked in at a Volunteer check in booth.

We were all given a certain station to throw colors at incoming runners. There was 5 different stations that each had their own distinct color. We helped set up the stations and directions to guide the runners through the entire race. Edison KIWIN’S worked with members from other schools such as Rancho cucamonga, Marina, Fountain Valley and many others to set the stations up. It was a friendly atmosphere as many of our members made new friendships with KIWIN’S members from other schools. Once the stations were set up, the race had started and everybody screamed their lungs out to cheer on the runners. All of us lined up ready to throw color into the faces of incoming runners. The first few runners came running towards us with their colored white shirts and ran into a flurry of pink colored powder flying into their face and clothes! Volunteers worked extremely hard in order to give the runners the best experience of their lives. They filled up the bottles constantly and had a consistent rotation to ensure that pink powder was continuously being thrown an incoming runners. None of the runners were left without pink colored powder stuck on their clothes! In the end, we took everything down and packed everything up into giant trucks that carried them out and stored them away for next year! Overall, this was one of the best service events that has happened so far this year. It held unforgettable experiences for the volunteers and especially the people running in the race. Next year, we’ll be looking forward to having this event again because it is an experience that everybody must have at least once in their lifetime!
