American Red Cross Blood Drive Two Red Cross bloodmobiles are here today from 7:30 am to 12:30 pm. Donor registration is in the main lobby. Requirements to donate: you must be at least 17-years-old; weigh at least 110 lbs.; be in good health; have not been asked by the Red Cross not to donate; and you must have a photo ID or your Red Cross donor card A hero may be sitting next to you and you might not even know it! You can’t tell a hero just by looking. You have to know their story and how God is using them in someone’s life. Do you have a story to share about a hero in your life? Email your story idea to Carol Bumbalough, cbumbalough@bumc.net with “Heroes” in the subject line. We will be sharing stories in various ways and times from May 10 through June 16.

It’s Time to Tailgate Starting today, April 13, our Home Team Tailgate crew will be at it again with hot coffee, refreshments and fellowship, so join them in the lawn area near the Boy Scout statue anytime between 9 and10. “Life Lessons” class is hosting the April 13 tailgate, and other classes/groups will host upcoming tailgates on the first Sunday each month beginning in May. BUMC Foundation Scholarship Applications Now Available - Deadline is May 1 Each year BUMC Foundation awards at least four $1000 renewable scholarships to high school or college seniors who are participants in the life of BUMC and are planning a career in a helping or caring profession (like teaching, medical field, biblical studies, etc.). Application deadline is May 1. In addition, the Foundation offers the $6,000 Howard Olds Scholarship for seminary students. Individuals eligible to apply for this award are seminary students approved by the Tennessee Conference of the United Methodist Church, or an adjacent conference, for full-time Master of Divinity or similar education in a United Methodist owned, affiliated or approved educational institution. Please drop your contribution for the Habitat for Humanity build in the collection plate, mail it to the church with “H4H” on the memo line, or go online to the BUMC Access page to make your contribution. Construction of the Halls’ new home began yesterday, with dedication day planned after the completion of the final work day, Saturday June 7th. Volunteers to provide snacks and breakfast and build volunteers are still needed. October is BUMC Global Impact month – Information in the Narthex this Weekend Is God calling you to serve beyond our Nashville community? Are you open to the experience of a new culture and the opportunity to serve and forge relationships in a new land? Our BUMC Global Impact Team has developed five international mission trips that will be happening at various dates between June 25, 2014 and January 30th, 2015 with a mission to serve, learn and to forge transformative relationships in the name of Christ.
