Women’s Wellness: Freedom from Co-dependency Wednesdays, January 16 – April 24 | 11:00 am -12:30 pm Led by Rev. Rachel Peavyhouse-Fay and Caroline Beavers, LPC-MHSP. This 15-week women’s “Brown Bag Lunch” group, based on Love is a Choice: Letting Go of Unhealthy Relationships, will explore together the ways that healthier relationships can restore balance to our lives and honor God. Marriage Enrichment: Partners on the Journey Tuesdays, January 15 - February 26 | 6:30-8:00 pm Led by John Fite, Ph.D., TN Psychologist-HSP Partners on the Journey is a 6-week Christian marriage Marriage Enrichment enrichment series that combines a Christian view of marriage as Workshops a sacred covenant with the latest scientific research about what predicts and supports marital success. Summer Trips, Tours, and Share the Spirit Meeting for students and adults, Sunday, January 13, 11 am - Tabernacle New Orleans Spring Break Family Mission Trip March 24-29, 2013. Hurricane Isaac clean up and repair. Registration online with $100 deposit. SAVE $30 on total cost if registered online by TOMORROW night, 12/31! 7th-12th grade and adults. The Share the Spirit Dinner and Auction will have a different look in 2013! Save the date - Sunday, March 3. In addition to the traditional dinner and auction, the evening will conclude with a youth-led worship in the Sanctuary featuring our Jubilation and Sonshine Choirs. Support and encouragement given to those adjusting to change and life after divorce. Divorcing, separating, and never-married parents will learn ways to minimize the negative impact of divorce or separation on children. Inclement Weather Policy If there are cancellations due to inclement weather, they will be posted on our website at www.bumc.net/weather. In case of inclement weather on Saturday evening or Sunday morning, services and Sunday school will be cancelled, with the exception of an 11:00 service for those who are able to safely get out. Art in the Breezeway Sandy Shou, a life-time member of BUMC, is being honored with a posthumous show of her original art work in the Art Hall, January and February. Sandy knew of this planned show and toiled to complete the art works for it before her passing. Sandy is best known as the artist who painted of the history of BUMC on the wall of the hall just off the Narthex, the teacher of the Monday night art group, long time member of the Chancel Choir, a lady talented in so many ways and loved by all who knew her. We remain grateful for all that Sandy’s legacy is to each of us.

Register at www.bumc.net. You Left the Building in a Big Way Thank you for all you did in the last month! Many of you (35+) gathered to represent Team BUMCee at the Graceworks Turkey Trot, filled and distributed 200 flood buckets and donated almost $30,000 to the victims of Superstorm Sandy. You bought 100 food bags for seniors at Bethlehem Center, purchased presents for the Manger, the Aids Angel tree, World Relief refugees, Santa for Seniors, filled and delivered more than 100 food baskets for families in need through Graceworks Christmas baskets, used a different way to buy loved ones gifts through the AGG program, and even more individually! Continue to expect more of yourself this coming year! Make your Plans for 2013 Take a fresh look at the 2013 Missions & Outreach Catalogue to see where God will take you this year. Plan to do something with your family, friends, and all the new friends in Christ you will make while serving those in need throughout the city, nation, and the world. Dream BIG this year! Early Responders Training: February 1-2 Be prepared to respond to natural disasters as a church. With over 5,000 active members, the largest congregation in our conference, we need to be at the forefront when disaster strikes. Consider this program if you have the ability to travel on short notice, can handle strenuous work, and care about others. Honduras Medical Mission Trip in Mid-April It’s time to begin signups for our spring trip to Tegucigalpa, Honduras. Looking for doctors, nurses, dentists, and others with the heart to care for those in need. Formal medical training is not necessary to be a productive member of this team.

harvest hands (www.harvesthandscdc.com) Harvest Hands is a catalyst for Christ-centered, wholistic community development working alongside our neighbors to further healthy living, education, spiritual formation and economic development in South Nashville. After-school Program Volunteers Needed Once a week commitment, MondayThursday, 4:30-6:00 or Friday from 4:00-5:00. Work with a small group of 8-10 students helping with homework, assisting in educational activities and building relationships with students.
