Christmas Food Baskets - $70 donation per basket Friday, December 16: 7:00 pm – fill baskets (youth area) Saturday, December 17: 8:00 am – deliver baskets. Donations are desperately needed for Christmas Baskets and may be made in honor of or in memory of loved ones by making a check to BUMC and earmark it “Christmas Baskets.” Order forms are on page three of today’s BEAM. 100 volunteers are needed to fill baskets and 100+ volunteers needed to deliver the baskets. Donations of UNWRAPPED gifts in the $20 range are needed, especially teen gifts. Bring donations to bins in the Chapel Narthex by Dec. 15th. Hundreds of volunteers are needed to help run the toy store - call 292-7184. Room in the Inn is in need of warm men’s coats, warm sweaters, sweat shirts, blue jeans, and back packs. Sponsor a Child at Thembelihle Pre-Primary and Primay School in Howick, South Africa The sponsorship fee for 2012 is $400 for a January to December education in a private Christian school. Ways to Serve this Advent A full list of ways to serve is printed on the cover. The Manger of Graceworks Ministries Serving Williamson County Thursday, December 8 - Thursday, December 15 (BUMC night is December 15) • The Manger gives the gift and the gift of giving. A store-like setting where qualified heads-of-households “shop” for Christmas presents and “pay” for them out of their own resources ($2 per person, max.) • There is a need for 15,000 new or gently used UNWRAPPED gifts for all ages ($30 or less). Some suggested ideas: accessories such as purses, jewelry, watches, bath and body kits, shaving kits, anything electronic, tools and automotive care; robes, pajamas, thermal underwear, and sports items. No stuffed animals. • Donations may be brought to the POD, located behind the Buchanan House, next to the Boy Scout trailer, south parking lot. Look for the Manger sign.

New Advent Banners Adorn Sanctuary in 2011 Thanks to BUMC member Sandy Schou for designing beautiful new Advent banners for the Sanctuary. In addition to Sandy’s artistic creativity, many other church members played a role in their construction: Sue Powell, Doris Waldschmidt, Beata Cunningham, Kathy Gregory, Brenda Wink, Fran Massey, Deese Bearden, Linda Homan, Karen Dreier, Jeannie Williams, and Ann Nussmeyer. We give thanks to God for their faithfulness in creating visual symbols of our faith that will enhance our worship experiences for many years to come.

Basketball & cheerleading coaches & concession stand workers needed! emPower Sports is looking for teen and adult volunteers to coach basketball and cheerleading and work the concession stand during the 2012 emPower Basketball league. A basketball and cheerleading workshop will be provided for all coaches.
