6th Annual Songwriter’s Night sponsored by the BUMC United Methodist Women Friday, February 28 at 7 pm in the Youth Tabernacle Cost $10, benefits Adoptions through Holt International. Featured Songwriters: Karyn Williams and Brian White. Karyn Williams released her first single to radio, Rejoice, which led to her signing with Inpop Records in 2011. Brian White’s songs have been recorded by such Christian artists as Avalon, Point of Grace, Jaci Velasquez and Country and Pop artists such as Trace Adkins, Gary Allan, Rodney Atkins, Rascal Flatts, Steve Holy, Earl Scruggs, Terri Clark, Kix Brooks, and Blackhawk.

Lent Begins with Ash Wednesday Worship Wednesday, March 5, 6:30 pm, Sanctuary Led by Rev. Eric Burton-Krieger Ash Wednesday begins the 40-day period of reflection known as Lent which helps us prepare spiritually for our understanding of the suffering, death and resurrection of Jesus. In Ash Wednesday worship, our foreheads are marked with ashes in the sign of the cross as a symbol of our repentance and mortality. Nursery for ages 3 and under.

Hinton County is the poorest in North Carolina, so the need is great. We will be doing home repairs and improvements as well as fellowship and worship. Please register ASAP.

Special Parking Request: No Parking anywhere on Ruby Tuesday Lot Try the BUMC Shuttle from the Synergy Parking Lot! The Ruby Tuesday lot is no longer available for overflow parking. Unless you plan to dine there after a service, you cannot park anywhere on the Ruby Tuesday lot. Instead, take the shuttle. It makes continuous loops between the narthex entrance and the Synergy lot across the street all Sunday morning. And it makes our lot less crowded for visitors. But again, no church parking is allowed anywhere on the Ruby Tuesday lot. Thanks for your help! Harvest Hands (www.harvesthandscdc.com) Sponsor the Harvest Hands AAU Basketball Team We are excited to announce the creation of a fourth grade AAU boy’s basketball team! We are looking for fifteen $250 sponsorships to help with the costs for our team, so we can in turn charge only a small fee for participation. Elementary School After-school Program Volunteers Needed for 2013-2014 Program runs Mon-Thurs, 3:45-6 pm and Friday, 3:45-5 pm. Volunteers commitment is once a week. Looking for individuals who care deeply for kids, want to help students learn more about Jesus and succeed in school.
