“Friends & Blessings” An event for ladies sponsored by our BUMC Day School Tuesday, February 3, Haney Hall, 9:30 - 11:00 am. An event for ladies of all ages and stages featuring Southern humorist and author Olivia deBelle Byrd, author of Miss Hildreth Wore Brown. Tickets are $5 for one and a friend and are available at the door or by calling the Day School Office at 615-373-2523. A continental breakfast will be served. All proceeds will support scholarships at our partner South Africa preschool. Jump Jive Dinner Dance to Benefit the Center for Youth Ministry Training (CYMT) Join CYMT on Saturday, February 14, 6 pm at the FiftyForward Martin Center in Brentwood for the First Annual Jump Jive Dinner Dance presented by T.W. January Focus: [Re]Stock the Pantry Don’t forget to leave your filled bags next to your parked vehicle. We will have volunteers in the parking areas picking up the bags and loading them onto the GraceWorks truck. We appreciate your support and had approximately 1,100 bags taken to be filled and are on our way to our goal. Once the donations are received at GraceWorks, we will know what our total collection weighed! Room in the Inn During colder months, BUMC will be able to host additional “emergency” nights. We need warm clothing of all sizes for men and women. Donations can be left in the red bins throughout the church. If you have a heart to make disciples and a love for middle school students would you consider becoming a mentor? Mentors will meet one-on-one with students on Monday afternoons twice a month at Harvest Hands (424 Humphreys St., 37203). Snacks and Juice Boxes Needed We are looking for individuals, families or Sunday School classes to donate snacks and juice boxes for our After-school Program. Snacks needed include: fruit snacks, granola bars, goldfish, teddy grahams, peanut butter crackers and 100 calorie packs. Juice boxes must be 100% juice. Snack sponsorships of $100 are also welcome. Ways to Serve Faith Friends Faith Friends is a small group for young adults with special needs, meeting Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30. Volunteers are needed to help teach. If you have a passion for sharing the Gospel through teaching, contact Rev. Erin Racine, eracine@bumc.net, 615-373-3663, ext. 244. Just 2 Hours a Month! That’s all it takes to join the team of worship entry volunteers. This isn’t work that requires a lot of computer skills. If you can “click”, you can do it. So if you’re interested in helping out, contact team leader Cindy Herald. cindylanham@yahoo.com or 859-582-0436. Do you want to encourage and pray for our Pastors? If you are willing to support our pastors on a regular basis by writing two notes per month and praying specifically for those to whom you are writing, then the FaithNotes Ministry is for you!
