Missions & Outreach For more info on all missions call David Ssebulime at 324-7222. January Focus: [RE] Stock the Pantry Help us ReStock the pantry at Graceworks! As a church, our goal is 15,000 pounds. Shopping bags will be available January 17/18 and January 24/25 for you to take and fill with non-perishable items. Each bag will have a list of current critical needs attached. On January 31/February 1, simply leave your filled bags next to your parked vehicle. We will have volunteers in the parking areas picking up the bags and loading them onto the GraceWorks truck. Room in the Inn We still need host groups for the following nights: February 13, March 17 & 24. Harvest Hands (www.harvesthandscdc.com) Elementary and Middle School After-school Program Volunteers Needed. Volunteers needed for Monday, Tuesday, Thursday from 3:45-6:00 pm and Wednesday and Friday from 3:45-5:30 pm. We ask that volunteers make a once a week commitment and are looking for individuals who care deeply for kids, want to help students learn more about Jesus and succeed in school. Ways to Serve 1st Grade Sunday School Teacher Urgently Needed! Help shepherd some of our youngest disciples on Sunday mornings. A teacher is needed for one of our current 1st grade classes beginning now until May 17, from 9:15 10:4-5 am. Join a wonderful team of volunteers for the class and teach approximately 2 Sundays a month. You will be individually trained and all materials and supplies are provided on Sunday mornings, as well as communications throughout the week in preparation. Faith Friends Faith Friends is a small group for young adults with special needs, meeting Wednesday evenings from 6:30-7:30. Volunteers are needed to help teach. Worship Video Group Looking for people who would like to join our worship video group. No experience is needed. If you are interested please contact Jim Williams at 615-829-0151 or willsofa@aol.com. GraceNotes Writers Share Christ’s love and hope through a ministry of writing encouraging notes! Twice each month, dedicated volunteers pray for, and write notes to, people going through difficult times, such as illness, grief, and job loss. Recipients report that the hand written cards are uplifting and remind them of God’s love and care. If you would like to be a part of this important and meaningful ministry, contact Rev. CARING MINISTRY HIGHLIGHTS OF THE WEEK MS Self Help Group The MS support group provides people with Multiple Sclerosis and their families an opportunity to share their MS experiences with those who can understand and identify with them in a positive and fun environment. Each meeting includes prayer, fellowship, food and education. For information contact Sandie Mountz at 376-5395. ADHD Do you have a diagnosis of having ADD or ADHD? The Adult ADD / ADHD support group meets the first and third Monday of every month from 6:30 to 8:00 pm in Room A392. Each meeting is focused around a particular topic and is professionally led. Infertility Support If you or someone you love is struggling with infertility, you are not alone. For 10 years, this ministry has offered support through prayer, education and connecting those struggling with persons who can provide empathy, listening, education and prayer. Cancer Support Partners in Hope Companions in the Journey of Cancer is comprised of male and female cancer survivors who meet on the second Saturday of each month. This group is open to the public and welcomes all survivors whether or not they are currently in treatment. Normally we meet at BUMC but occasionally we go out to lunch. The purpose of the group is to support each other, exchange helpful information, and talk through topics and concerns shared by survivors.
