Missions & Outreach For more info on all missions call David Ssebulime at 342-8222 Responding to a Community in Need: Room in the Inn A thank you from the leadership of the RITI Campus: To the leaders of our 180 partner congregations: Before last week’s extremely cold weather, we issued a call to all of you to consider offering additional shelter beds. You responded with amazing generosity. Over the course of the four coldest nights, 457 extra beds were added. This meant that no one who sought shelter with us had to be turned away. Surely lives were saved by your efforts. Thank you for all you do, all season long, to provide for the needs of our guest. The note included a letter of gratitude from Mayor Karl Dean, which is reproduced on the BUMC website at www.bumc.net/RoomInTheInn. This winter, those who serve in the RITI program have fed, sheltered, and provided safety to groups of men, women and families. Last week, as artic weather reached the mid-state with record cold temperatures, we were again asked to respond to the call for additional nights of shelter. Please keep our program, our volunteers, and guests in your hearts and prayers as we make our way through these upcoming winter months. Donations to the RITI program can be made through the offering plate (“RITI” on the memo line), or mailed to the church to the attention of Lisa Alexander, Missions/Outreach.
