New Sermon Series Begins August 10/11 Luke: A Gospel for Everyone For 10 weeks this fall, senior pastor Dr. Davis Chappell will lead us through a powerful, personal portrait of Jesus as seen in the orderly account by physician-author, Luke. Plan to attend and invite a friend by using the card in today’s bulletin.

Empowered! Plugging leaders, teachers, and mentors into the Source Sunday, August 4, 5 - 8 pm Registration and dinner open at 4:30 Dinner and opening session in Haney Hall, closing worship in the Sanctuary with Dr. Davis Chappell. Empowered! is designed to: • equip volunteer leaders with the tools to serve in ministries with children, students, and adults • show volunteers how to serve as spiritual leaders in those ministries If you are a teacher or leader in any area involving children, students, or adults, Empowered! is for you! • Church-wide Picnic Sunday August 18 4:30-7:00 pm Music! Inflatables! Food! This year, BUMC is providing the BBQ and sides from Stroud’s so all you need to do is bring your lawn chairs or a blanket and enjoy. Pastor Davis will deliver a brief vesper service at 6:30 with music by Christen Cole.

September 11 • Wednesday night activities begin for children, students and adults Next Starting Point begins September 8 at 6 pm If you are a new member or are considering membership, Starting Point was designed with you in mind. Jeff Wilson leads the class and will discuss topics like personal discipleship, BUMC’s history and vision, how to plug into the church and more. Register today at bumc.net/register or contact jbumgarner@bumc.net for more information. Christmas in July Packing Party Sunday, July 28, 1-3 pm, Singles Area All ages. Great fun! Pack over 500 backpacks and supplies for children in need. We’ll have a blessing over the backpacks and supplies.
