Lent at BUMC Conspiracy Theory: The Passion Story of Luke March 15/16 “Religious Ambition” Luke 22:24-30 Next week: March 22/23 “The Nevertheless Prayer” Luke 22:39-46 During Lent, Dr. Davis Chappell leads us through Luke’s passion story in his sermon series entitled “Conspiracy Theory.” Invite a friend to join you as we journey through the last week of Jesus’ life as he confronts betrayal, political expediency, sacrifice and more. Adult Studies - Living Lent Together Wednesdays, 6:30 – 7:30 pm in the Sanctuary. Moves to the Chapel starting March 26. Join with others to reflect on the practices that help us to live into Lent. Each week we’ll have teaching on a different practice from a pastor or speaker followed by discussion in small groups. No registration is required. Our next session begins March 16 at 9:45 am. Childcare is available. Habitat for Humanity Kicks off March 15-16th! Signups begin TODAY for BUMC’s Williamson County Habitat for Humanity build! Look for the table in the Narthex and sign up for one of the nine build dates, or sign up to be a meal volunteer. This year’s build benefits a single mom and her son – join them on this journey to home-ownership! Meet The Family: Misty Hall and her son, Jayden Misty is a member of Life Community Church in Brentwood, and works for Williamson County Schools as a licensed Special Education Teacher Assistant. She describes her son Jayden as a “miracle” and “her entire world.” Jayden has physical and developmental challenges. In 2009, a relative backed over Jayden twice, leaving him in a body cast with a crushed spleen and multiple fractures. Miraculously he bounced back in just six months. The Habitat for Humanity home-ownership program has brought a “great sense of excitement” into their lives. States Misty: “This program means so much for our future.” Family Worship night at BUMC Wednesday, April 9, 6:30 pm Led by the Angel, Agape, Asbury, and Alleluia Choirs, age 4 through 6th grade. This semester the children have been focusing on hymns, scripture memory songs, and songs that share stories from the Bible. Join us for a Family Worship night when our children will lead our church family in singing the great hymns and worship songs of the church, and share with us the seeds of God’s word that are being planted in their hearts. Important Parking Information The Ruby Tuesday lot is no longer available for BUMC parking. Unless you plan to dine there after a service, you may not park in the Ruby Tuesday lot. Violators will be towed. Instead, take the shuttle which makes continuous loops between the Narthex entrance and the Synergy lot across the street all Sunday morning.
