Dear Church Family, As we journey through the season of Lent, I invite you to be present in worship each week as we take a look at an important place in Jesus' life and hear the sacred message of that place. This Sunday, February 24th, our new Bishop will be preaching at all three Sunday services. I hope you will be here to meet and hear Bishop McAlilly. After finishing my work here on Easter Sunday and taking a brief transitional leave, I am projected to move to Cookeville, Tennessee to pastor First United Methodist Church. Paula and I know the community well, have many friends in the area, and look forward to this next chapter of our lives in this good church and community. One of the most exciting events in our church each spring is the Share the Spirit auction and dinner - the event which helps raise the funds that allow our youth to reach out with music and love to people across the country through tours and mission trips. Tickets for the March 3 auction and dinner are on sale in the breezeways this Sunday. This year, there will be a new facet to the Share the Spirit event - a youth-led worship celebration in the sanctuary at 7 pm. Tickets are not necessary for the worship celebration - in fact we hope you will invite family, friends and neighbors to join you for a meaningful time of music and worship led by our fabulous youth choirs.
