THE BEAM

May 11 - 17, 2014

Today we are celebrating the heroes of our age-level discipleship ministries (children, youth & adults). We are so grateful for the hundreds of Sunday School teachers, small group mentors, Bible study leaders, nursery helpers, and other dedicated volunteers whom God is using to prepare children, youth and adults to live as faithful disciples of Jesus Christ. Thank you for being OUR HEROES! GIFTED • CALLED • NEEDED -- God is at work through YOU! Stop by the ministry table in the Narthex today to learn more about serving opportunities in age-level discipleship ministries and to pick up your copy of the 2014 Serving Opportunities catalog. For more information, go to www.bumc.net/serving.

DISCOVER Your Gifts Today

The world desperately needs people who use their gifts to serve. No one is without gifts or without purpose. The gifts God gives empower people to serve one another, our community, and our world. Here are 3 ways you can discern your spiritual gifts: • Online Inventory: www.bumc.net/spiritualgifts • Printed Inventory & Description: Serving Opportunities Catalog • Group or Class Inventory: Arrange for your small group or class to study your gifts together by contacting Judith Bone at jbone@bumc.net. Student Ministry Heroes On Friday, May 2, our Student Ministry hosted a youth-led battle of the bands competition called Rock the Chains. Ten bands competed with approximately 250 in attendance. They raised $4,230.72 for International Justice Mission in the fight against modern day slavery! Thanks, BUMC heroes!
