Love Offering & Reception for Rev. Kaye Harvey Rev. Kaye Harvey, who has served BUMC with excellence and faithfulness for 10 years, has been appointed to Edgehill UMC. Her last Sunday at BUMC will be May 19. Greet her and express your appreciation at a reception at noon on Sunday, May 19 in the parlor. A Keyboard Kaleidoscope: Patsy Wade & Gregg Bunn In Concert May 19, Sanctuary, 4:00 pm BUMC pianist, Patsy Wade, and organist, Gregg Bunn, join forces on the Sanctuary’s Bösendorfer grand piano and mighty pipe organ for a concert of sacred & classical keyboard solos and duets. In addition, they will collaborate with other BUMC instrumentalists for a concert not to be missed. Teach a Summer Sunday! Eager-to-learn preschool and elementary kids need teachers for summer Sunday School at BUMC. If you can help one Sunday from May 26 through August 4, please contact Beth Lentchner (elementary) at blentchner@bumc.net or Holly Fisher (preschool) at hfisher@bumc.net. All materials are provided and curriculum is easy to follow. Are you a healthcare professional who would be willing to be “on call” on the BUMC campus on Sunday mornings? Medical personnel are occasionally needed to assist worshipers while our faith community is gathered on Sunday mornings. Donate Used and New Baseball Equipment Troop 1 Boy Scout Reece Bennett is collecting baseball equipment to benefit Nashville RBI (Reviving Baseball in Inner Cities) for his Eagle Scout Service Project. Items needed: Bats, gloves, balls, cleats, catcher’s gear, helmets with facemasks, baseball pants, belts and softball gear. Do you have a gift for writing and the desire to make a difference in the lives of others, but don’t have a lot of time? We are looking for volunteers to prayerfully write cards twice a month to people in all walks of life who are in need of a little extra love and encouragement. Habitat for Humanity ReStore Drive - Sunday, May 19 The church will collect new and gently used household items and building supplies for the Habitat for Humanity ReStore Drive. These tax-deductible donations will be sold at the Franklin Habitat store and all proceeds go to build affordable houses in Williamson Co. A trailer will be onsite in the church parking lot on Sunday, May 19 to accept donations. Free large-item pick-up service is available by calling 615-690-8094. Grace Works Food Bag Collection Sunday, May 26 Our goal this year is to collect 100 food bags and 50 basic needs bags to help those in need in Williamson County. Haiti Mission Trip June 15 - 22, 2013 Reservation requires a $200 non-refundable deposit (trip cost is $1,600). Contact: Dan Elkins 615-347-4821. Mexico Mission Trip September 13 – 22 (www.gytte.org) Join BUMC and Belmont UMC to work, worship and learn about Give Ye Them to Eat. BUMC has been a partner with this ministry since 1992. The GYTTE Tree of Life Center, located in South Central Mexico, near the village of Tlancualpican, is an integrated development ministry of the Methodist Church of Mexico which focuses on Community and Family Health, Church and Faith Development, Community Development, Agricultural Development, Livestock Development, and cross cultural work and study programs.
