Lessons

from the Great Recession

October 22/23 - Cultivate a Life of Contentment October 29/30 - Follow Dr. Green’s Final Prescription Our economy is struggling. Expenses rise and incomes shrink or disappear altogether. In the midst of these tough times, what does the Bible have to say about our relationship with money? Listen to sermons on the web at www.bumc.net/sermons.

Timothy Project Table in the Narthex this Morning Are you an adult who would like to make a difference in a 7th or 8th grader’s life? If so, you could become part of our “Timothy Project” group. We need 200 adults to serve as prayer partners to these students in our church. You would simply pray, send cards/letters, and offer encouragement to your student. It’s a great way for you to make a difference just as Paul did in Timothy’s life when he was a young man. If you would like more information, contact Sandra Wiseman at jswise2@aol.com.

All Saints Weekend Saturday, November 5 and Sunday, November 6 On this weekend we will reflect on all who have gone before us, and now abide in the “great cloud of witnesses.” All those who have died in the past year from our family of faith will be named in the weekend services and a rose will be displayed in their honor. There will be a guided meditation with an opportunity to view the names added to the memorial wall, as well as pay respects to those buried in our Columbarium.

Meet Our New Bishop Sunday, October 23, 6 - 8 pm The Extended Cabinet of the Tennessee Annual Conference cordially invites all pastors and lay persons of the Tennessee Conference to a Service of Worship and Welcome for our new Episcopal leader, Bishop Ben Chamness, and his wife, Joye. A reception will follow in Haney Hall.
