October 2 - 8, 2016 Making Disciples of Jesus Christ for the Transformation of the World

COMMUNION OFFERING www.bumc.net/LoveInDeed

This month’s communion offering goes toward Love in Deed. Love in Deed is a new church-wide day of service on October 15. We are

inviting 800 people in our congregation to serve with local youth, pack meals and welcome home kits, donate clothes and household items, and train to respond to natural disasters. You can give during communion in the offering plates or text BUMCCOM and a dollar amount to 28950 (ex. BUMCCOM 50). If this is your first time giving through text, you will receive a text back with information on how to register.

Love In Deed Ministry Highlight: Stop Hunger Now Stop Hunger Now is driven by the vision of a world without hunger. They provide food and life-changing aid to the world's most vulnerable populations and operate meal-packaging programs in 20 U.S. cities and six countries. In just under two hours, a group of 40 to 50 people can package 10,152 nutrient-rich meals for undernourished children. After meals are packaged, Stop Hunger Now distributes them through partner organizations in developing countries that encourage children to attend school, improve students' health and nutrition, address gender inequalities, stimulate economic growth, and combat child labor as well as other global issues.
