Dr Ray and Lovey Kumalo spoke about the relationships we have built with the Brentwood Society Church, the Thembelihle School, and others. By the end of the evening attendees committed to sponsor 170 of the 340 students for the 2017 school year. We are thankful for each of you and your generosity! LOVE IN DEED www.bumc.net/LoveInDeed Saturday, October 15, 9 am, locations vary Love in Deed is a new initiative to send our congregation on a day of service. More than 800 people will serve with Open Table Nashville, Thriftsmart, Rocketown, Stop Hunger Now and UMCOR in a variety of ways that impact our community. The goals of the projects are to empower 50 homeless people, impact 500 local youth, train 100 people in disaster response, and provide 100,000 meals and 20,000 pounds of clothes and household items. Ministry Highlight: Rocketown Rocketown is a faith-based youth outreach center in the heart of downtown Nashville serving mostly urban youth. This relational ministry offers daily activities and programs centered on mentorship such as Skate Church, creative arts programs, team sports, academic enrichment programs and family dinner gatherings.
