COMMUNION OFFERING: HURRICANE HARVEY RELIEF This month’s communion offering is for the UMCOR U.S. Disaster Response Fund for Hurricane Harvey relief. All donations to the Disaster Response Fund are used for relief efforts; nothing is kept for operational costs. You can give during Communion in the offering plates or text BUMCCOM and a dollar amount to 28950 (ex. BUMCCOM 50). If this is your first time giving through text, you will receive a text back with information on how to register. See the next page to learn more about how you can help.

Enjoy dinner with the family, then stay to hear our pastors and guest speaker, Dr. Rip Patton, reflect on the Book of Jeremiah while kids and youth go to programs or childcare. Dr. Patton was a Nashville Freedom Rider during the Civil Rights Movement and serves on the board of the Nashville Freedom School. Sign language interpretation and Facebook Live broadcast will be available. HARVEY DISASTER RESPONSE

How can we help those affected by Hurricane Harvey? 1. Pray for those whose lives are being impacted; for first responders and volunteers; and for God to stir our hearts to respond 2. Give to UMCOR U.S. Disaster Response (Advance #901670) at www.umcor.org/Donate 3. Share the names of your loved ones affected by this disaster with missions@bumc.net so our church family can pray on their behalf 4. Assemble an UMCOR cleaning kit for the POD in the parking lot; assembly instructions can be found at www.umcor.og/UMCOR/Relief-Supplies At this time, we have been asked to not yet provide volunteers. PRESCHOOL BIBLE PRESENTATION (Milestone #2)

Sunday, September 17, 11:05 a.m. 3-year-olds will receive their first Bibles in this special milestone, followed by a family lunch. Also for 4 and 5-year-olds who have not yet received a Bible.
