Grief Support Group Begins September 19 Meets Thursdays, 5:30 - 7:00 pm Alive Hospice will be hosting an 8-week Grief Support group at BUMC beginning September 19 through November 7th. This group will be professionally facilitated and is appropriate for anyone who has experienced the loss of a parent, spouse, sibling, child or other loved one. $40 fee, but this may be waived if needed. And that’s a good thing – but to make parking and traffic between services run more smoothly, we need additional parking volunteers to direct traffic flow, show visitors where to park, encourage people to take the Synergy lot shuttle, etc. Contact jbumgarner@bumc.net if you’d like to join our Parking Lot Team. And speaking of the shuttle … Instead of sitting in the BUMC lot waiting for a parking space to open up, consider parking across the street in the Synergy lot and taking the shuttle! Starting Point Begins tonight, September 8 at 6 pm Registration is still open! If you’re interested in learning how to become more active in the congregational life of Brentwood United Methodist Church, then we encourage you to come to Starting Point, which begins tonight and runs through Oct. 13. Art Hall Display Bob Ferguson and David Johnson, BUMC members and part of the late Sandy Schou’s Monday night painting group are having a joint Show and Sale of 40 pieces of their art work. Their Show will be in the Art Breezeway of the Church the months of September and October. 25% of the sale of their works will go to BUMC. Volunteer Opportunities Ways to Serve in Worship Chancel Choir Kickoff The new fall season for the Chancel Choir is off to a great start, with some exciting new music representing a variety of styles, including some outstanding Christmas music - all we need is YOU! Student Ministry Small Group Leader We are in need of more small group leaders to mentor, teach, and build relationships with our teenagers. Training and curriculum provided. Leaders facilitate the conversation and build community and accountability. Groups meet on Sunday nights and are divided by grade and gender. Safe Haven Family Shelter Safe Haven Family Shelter is a BUMC partner ministry, is one of the only programs in Nashville focused on ending family homelessness through proven educational techniques.
