L.A. RIVER CLEANUP

Being a participant of the LA River Cleanup was a really inspiring event. You never truly realize the small things that everyday people do for the community until you get down on your hands and knees! We spent the morning puling weeds out of the pathway of the LA River and had so much fun doing it. Being a person without a lot of physical strength, I had trouble with this event; pulling weeds isn’t my specialty. But I learned and with the help of friends and fellow Key Clubbers, and even everyday people from the community, we were able to clear weeds from a very large area! It was nice to have a unique event away from the urban environment and I hope that we can participate in another one soon! -‐Kenny Yamaguchi

#SPREADTHELOVE

The card-‐making event for Valentine's Day was fun and it was really thoughtful to show care for the elders using Valentine. We had a lot of fun during the making and many design ideas popped up. This event kind of showed me that my friends are really creative and thoughtful towards the elders. They made really nice cards. The food place was nice to have too with all the chips, brownies, Capri Sun, etc. Overall this event was really heartwarming and it feels good to help out. -‐Kristine Huang
