Fall Festival! /October 27, 2018 /

Volunteering at Dorris Place Elementary's Fall Festival was a wonderful and fun experience, I signed up for the whole day, so I arrived early to set up and stayed late to clean up. I helped with decorations and game set up. Later, we were divided into two groups, those dealing with food and those working the game booths, I was in charge of turtle racing along with one of my good friends. We tried to keep the turtles as comfortable as possible. Kids picked a turtle and them watch them race, it was very amusing as they rooted for their turtles and funny when the turtles just stood there. The little kids were so full of energy, curiosity, and happiness that it made me extra glad I was there. Other volunteers took orders, served food, were in charge of boat racing, ring toss, face painting, etc. We were all having a good time. After helping clean up, I was exhausted but overall, I had a great day and unforgettable memories with fellow wolves and friends.

Jerlyn Bautista

Congratulations to Jerlyn Bautista for being chosen for the month of October! Since the start of a new term, we have seen Jerlyn come out to several of events such as the Campus Beautification/ Spirit Session held at our school in September and the Garfield High School Beautification project. Jerlyn's passion for Key Club has definitely grown since this past year and we have seen her grow into an active member this year. There is no doubt that Jerlyn will continue volunteering for her community even after she graduates from high school. WE hope to see her more in the upcoming months!

Recap

October was one of our most lively events. We had our very successful bake sale fundraiser in which we sold out. Some students participated in the Garfield Campus cleanup. We ended our month big as we participated in helping out Dorris Place Elementary school's Fall Festival. About twenty members of our club participated and many stayed the whole day. Our club can't wait for the Fall Rally!
