Beach Clean Up /August 18, 2018 /

The Region 7 Beach Clean Up was a blast! Our duty was fulfilled as we cleaned up Dockweiler State Beach as a team. The region event was full of fun and enjoyment as we relaxed and swam once we finished cleaning up the beach. We were able to meet new people, form division 3 schools, to division 16. I was able to meet many people and create new friends. Kiwanis members did their best in chaperoning us and providing us food and transportation. My friends and I had a great time! I hope that we'll have more region events as we can meet new people and have fun at the same time! -Calvin Manio

Officer of the Month

For August 2018

Kloy Marie Ocampo

Congratulations to Kloy Ocampo for being chosen for the month of August! Kloy has been true role model for our officers and a great representation of how we want our club to be portrayed.Even though she just came into the role as secretary, Kloy has successfully managed to accurately and efficiently track all of our hours—which is no easy feat. Kloy remains active in our club, attends weekly board meetings, in addition to maintaining strong communication with John marshall Key Club member’s to be sure their volunteer service has been recorded properly With all that being said, Kloy is incredibly deserving of this recognition. We know she will continue to excel at her job as we progress throughout the term.

-Appolonia Cuneo, Vice President

Member of the Month

For August 2018

Jessica Rivera

Congratulations to Jessica Rivera for being recognized as the member of the month of August! As school is now in session, Jessica has been active in our club and in the DLT, coming up with new fundraisers that would help support the club and the division. Not only that, she has attended Big Sunday’s Back to School Drive and Region 7’s Beach Clean Up. As she is both a member of the club and part of the DLT, we have seen her grow over the past year. Her dedication and passion for Key Club is definitely growing. There is no doubt that she will continue serving the community in her future. -Hannah Kim, Vice President

Recap

August was the beginning of school, so we were preparing for our club. We had a great time at Region 7's Beach Clean Up. I was able to meet new people from KC, and we met some Kiwanis as well. There wasn't much this month because of school, but we are preparing for our Club opening in John Marshall
