ASSIA KOVANOVA DAVID DOUTEL

Nasceu em Sofia, formou-se na National Academy Of Theatre And Film Arts com um M.A. em realização de animação e especialização em Cinematografia de Filme e Televisão. Dirigiu uma série de palestras em design de animação na Varna Free University, na Bulgária. É ilustradora e designer de vários livros e revistas, assim como membro da International Animated Film Association (ASIFA) e da Union of Bulgarian Film Makers (UBF). Desde 2011 é a diretora artística e a gerente de design do World Festival of Animated Film em Varna. Realizou os filmes de animação "The Gardener’s Weed" (em produção), "Paper Kite" (2019), "Love with Occasional Showers" (2016), "The Piano Player" (2012), "Mente" (2001), "Genesis" (2003), "Extazy" (2003) e "Concentration" (1999). Nascido em 1983 na cidade do Porto, David Doutel licenciou-se em Som e Imagem pela Universidade Católica do Porto com especialização em Animação. Desenvolveu o seu percurso no cinema de animação de autor, trabalhando como realizador, animador e produtor. Parte integrante de equipas artísticas e de produção, contribuiu para a criação de inúmeras curtas de animação premiadas e selecionadas regularmente em festivais internacionais de cinema. Colabora desde o início do seu percurso com Vasco Sá, com quem partilhou a realização de 3 curtas-metragens de animação: "O Sapateiro" (2011), "Fuligem" (2014) e "Agouro" (2018). Está neste momento a corealizar a curta "Garrano", em coprodução com a Lituânia. É um dos fundadores da cooperativa BAP – Animation Studios, onde trabalha como produtor e realizador. David Doutel was born in 1983 in Porto. He has a BA in Sound and Image specialized in Animation by the School of Arts from UCP. He has developed his career in author animation film, working as director, animator and producer. As member in artistic and production teams, he has contributed for the creation of several animation shorts, selected and awarded in international film festivals. He has been working all along with Vasco Sá with whom he shared the experience of directing 3 animation shorts: The Shoemaker (2011), Soot (2014), Agouro (2018). He is currently co-directing the short Garrano, co-produced with Lithuania. He is one of the founders of BAP – Animation Studios, where he works as producer and director.

Eburões que derrotaram César em 57 AC, Frank é também um artista/realizador/Produtor independente formado na “De Academie for beeldende kunst Gent”. Depois do seu filme de licenciatura, “A Night On Gor”, trabalhou um ano num mashup de animação, “Bug’s Club”, inspirado no “Hell's Club” de Antonio Maria

Da Silva AMDSFILMS. Em 2017/2018 Frank produziu a sua curta “Alpha”e está agora a trabalhar em video art usando técnicas de Neural Style Transfer, e a produzir a sequela de Alpha, “The Voyage Home”. Frank is a direct descendant from Ambiorix, Prince of the Eburones who defeated Caesar in 57 BC. Frank is also an independent artist/director/ producer graduated from “De Academie for beeldende kunst Gent”. After his graduation film “A Night On Gor”, he worked for one year on an animation mashup “Bug’s Club” inspired by “Hell's Club” by Antonio Maria Da Silva AMDSFILMS. In 2017/2018 Frank Produced his short film “Alpha”. Currently Frank is working on Video art using Neural Style Transfer techniques and is producing a sequel to Alpha “The Voyage Home”.

CAROLINA RAMOS MAFALDA FIGUEIRAS PEDRO PAIVA

Carolina Ramos nasceu em 2004, no estado do Rio Grande do Sul, Brasil e vive em Portugal desde 2017. É aluna da Escola Secundária de Camões, no curso de Línguas e Humanidades. Na escola, participa, desde 2019, na Oficina de Cinema Filhos de Lumiére, no projeto Erasmus Edu4U e é membro da Associação de Estudantes. Carolina Ramos was born in 2004, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, and lives in Portugal since 2017. She is a student in the Languages and Humanities course at Escola Secundária de Camões,. At school, she is part, since 2019, of the “Filhos de Lumiére” film workshop, project Erasmus Edu4U, and she is a member of the Student Association. Tenho 18 anos e sou da Amadora, Lisboa, Portugal. Desde pequena, gostei sempre de brincar com amigos imaginários e fazer histórias com eles. Mais tarde, comecei a desenhá-los e criar quadradinhos. Quando soube que programas de desenhos animados foram criados por pessoas e não deuses de televisão, a minha vida mudou completamente. Agora, estudo animação para dar vida às minhas ideias e aos mundos que tenho desenhados em pedaços de papel. Não só para mim, mas para todas as pessoas que compartilham a mesma paixão por animação. I'm 18 years old and I'm from Amadora, Lisbon, Portugal. Since I was little, I always liked to play with imaginary friends and make stories with them. Later, I started drawing and creating little comics. When I learned that cartoons were created by real people and not television gods my life changed completely. Now, I study animation to bring my ideas and the worlds I have drawn on pieces of paper to life. Not just for me, but for all the people who share the same passion for animation. Nascido em 2000, em Almada, frequenta o 12° ano do Curso Profissional de Técnico de Multimédia, na EBS Francisco Simões, em Almada. Tem organizado e participado em diversas exposições coletivas, salientando-se a exposição “Sexta-feira: Os Binóculos Do Futuro” que esteve patente no mês de Junho, na Oficina de Cultura de Almada, e contou com a participação da coreógrafa Cláudia Dias e do músico João Miguel Fonseca. Tem também participado na organização de diversos eventos culturais e na criação de variados objetos gráficos, fotográficos e de videoarte. Born in 2000, in Almada, he is finishing senior year in the Multimedia Technician Professional Course at EBS Francisco Simões, in Almada. He has been organizing and joining in several group exhibitions, such “Sexta-feira: Os Binóculos Do Futuro”, which ran this June at the Oficina de Cultura de Almada, with the participation of choreographer Cláudia Dias and musician João Miguel Fonseca. He has also been in the organization of several cultural events, and creating graphic, photographic and video art objects.

A introversão e a timidez são dons, aceitá-las é uma técnica que deve ser aprendida. 30 Gifs comunicam as emoções que encontro constantemente dentro de mim. Como sou uma pessoa introvertida, quando existem muitos sentimentos e pensamentos dentro do meu corpo e do meu cérebro, é importante distinguir cada emoção obscura de modo a compreender-me a mim mesmo. Desta forma, liberto-me gradualmente das auto-imposições que as minhas personalidades me exigem. Introversion and shyness are gifts, embracing them is a skill to learn. 30 Gifs convey the recurring emotions inside me. As an introvert, when there are many feelings and thoughts going on inward my body and brain, it is important to understand myself by distinguishing each obscure emotion. By doing so, I find myself gradually free from suffering self-harshness of my personalities.

Aproveitando-se da vulnerabilidade de crianças e convencendo-as a serem ferramentas de guerra, as crianças africanas estão a ser sacrificadas em guerras sem sentido. Joseph Rao Kony comanda O Exército de Resistência do Senhor, formado em 1986, no Uganda, que usa milhares de crianças-soldado que forçou a matar os seus próprios pais e familiares. A criança já não consegue voltar à sua comunidade, e só lhe resta seguir Kony. Manipulando as mentes destas crianças dizendo-lhes que se tornam imunes às balas, uns dizem que ele é um poderoso bruxo que consegue controlar a natureza, e outros sabem que é afinal um grande mestre no que toca a fugir à lei. Through using kids' vulnerability they are lured to be tools for war. Africa's children are being sacrificed to win meaningless wars. Joseph Rao Kony commands The Lord’s Resistance Army that was formed in 1986 in Uganda. He controls thousands of child soldiers and forced them to kill their own parents/ family. The child cannot go back to the community and all they have left is follow Kony. He brainwashes children by telling they are themselves bulletproof. Some say he is a powerful witch doctor that can control nature and is a great master when disappearing from the law.

A girl lives locked in her home surrounded by a high hedge. When the wind carries onto her balcony dry leaves, empty shells, faded petals and other small fragments from the woods - she collects them to keep them indoors and admire their beauty. The impact of communism was huge. The destiny of orphans was taken from foster care to institutional care. The animated document with the testimony of the man who grew up in the constitution and the woman who solves the problem from the outside, shows that despite 30 years of freedom from communism, Czech Republic still desperately needs a revolution in this area.

A small child raised to conform to the expectations of society, is unable to differentiate between love, hate and fear. ‘Them people’ is a short animation film, inspired by a self composed poem that speaks about the growing intolerance towards “the other”, and the obsession to define one’s own identity. .

HomemEmLadoNenhum é uma curta-metragem de animação em 3D de cinco minutos, sobre um herói que é sacrificado pelo governo e pela população. A história segue um “marshal” que anuncia ao público a sua primeira experiência de viagem do tempo. No entanto, a experiência descarrila e o herói fica preso na repetição da cronologia para sempre. Atrás deste aparente sucesso está a ironia de uma verdade. NoWhereMan is a five-minute 3D animated short film, about a hero who is sacrificed by the government and the masses. The story follows a marshal who announces their first ever travel experiment to the public. However, the experiment goes haywire when the hero gets trapped in the repetitive timeline forever. Behind this shallow success is an ironic truth.

O filme apresenta vários temas comuns que provocam o pânico nos sonhos. As personagens que sonham encontram-se em situações desconfortáveis e à medida que a história progride certos eventos tornam-se ainda mais dramáticos causando mais caos. This short film was created as a diploma film in the final year of Vyšší odborná a Střední umělecká škola Václava Hollara. The main topic of this film is dreaming, and the story immerses the spectator in its fantastic world, which lacks the traditional logic of everyday life. The film features several typical panic-inducing dream motifs. The dreaming characters find themselves in uncomfortable situations and as the story progresses the absurd events are becoming increasingly more dramatic causing further chaos.

He lives alone in a small apartment with no sunlight. He works in a factory and goes back home in the evenings to have dinner in front of the TV. One day, upon coming home from work, he discovers that a little cockroach has been stealing food from his kitchen. Instead of killing it, Gregorio takes pity on it and adopts it as a housemaid. The cockroach grows under strict discipline as Gregorio gradually sees the life he knew change completely.

The two enter into an animated pursuit generating several metamorphoses in the spaces in which they are. Each transformation represents a different phase of the relationship between the two, interpolated with excerpts from the poem.
