Building up to the big one! By Maxine Cheyney The 24th Monaco Yacht Show will soon be upon us, and SuperyachtNews.com is marking the beginning of the official countdown to its opening with the launch of its dedicated ‘MYS News' section of the website. SuperyachtNews.com's coverage of the event can be accessed via a tab on the homepage, leading to a devoted section bringing you real-time news from now until conclusion of the event. Our team of dedicated journalists, who will also be on the ground at the event, will keep you abreast of fleet updates, exhibitor news and key announcements. Promising to be bigger than ever, with an extension of the exhibition area, the show will now offer berthing for yachts over 100m, something which had been in high demand in recent years; three new berths from 90m up to 120m which will be available on Quai Rainier 1er. Among the largest of those confirmed for exhibition include 85.6m Cakewalk and 85.1m Solandge. And of the 110 yachts that will be on display in September, ranging from 25m to 100m will be around 40 that will be making their world première.

In a statement to the media, Gaëlle Tallarida, the show's managing director, said: “we deliver a social and business networking platform for the world’s top clientele interested in superyachting. The Monaco show remains the place to be whether you’re looking to step on board this year’s finest superyacht offerings or discover the most innovative and tailormade products and services that make luxury yachting the ultimate art of life.” Along with traditional Monaco Yacht Show features, comes the new MYS C&C Lounge, which according to Tallarida will be offering a lounge especially for crew. She explained, “a few crew facilities around the show already exist but our main concern was to really welcome those men and women who are the heart and soul of a yacht.” SuperyachtNews.com will be providing daily news updates running up to the event as threy are announced and the Monaco Yacht Show tab will remain the homepage throughout the show, providing an unrivalled source of original news and insight during the course of show. And based on its success to date, The Superyacht Owner will be hosting the VIP lounge, click here for more information. Coming up in Issue 157 of The Superyacht Report, our Monaco Yacht Show Preview will showcase some of the most exciting yachts over 30m that will be exhibited this year.
