The world’s most glamorous yacht show returns to Port Hercules in Monte-Carlo for its 22nd edition, September 19-22. text by  Tim Thomas

In the next few pages, you’ll find our pick of some of the key yachts that are expected at Monaco, including many world premieres. The current list of new yachts ranges from the mighty 279-foot Lürssen motor yacht Ace to the graceful 103-foot Southern Wind sailing yacht Almagores II, and there will be plenty of variety in between to suit all tastes and desires. Changes this year include the addition of an Upper Deck Lounge in the Parvis Piscine, designed for the “business and social elite” at the show and offering private meeting rooms for talking business and enjoying fine food and drinks. Meanwhile, as in years past, superyacht captains and crew can escape to Dockwalk’s Captains’ Hideout, located above Stars ‘n’ Bars. The Monaco Yacht Show is, indeed, all grown up. We’ll see you there.

The Monaco Yacht Show has come a long way in its more than two decades of existence. From a handful of yachts showing along the Quai des Etats Unis in its early renditions, this year’s show will dazzle visitors with more than 100 superyachts taking over the port, ranging between 80 and 300 feet, and some 500 exhibitors—from yacht designers, naval architects and shipyards to upholsterers, entertainment system specialists, tech gear suppliers and even the odd gold faucet maker. The show these days is imperative for anyone connected to or interested in the superyacht industry, a not-to-miss event where big-name owners can be spotted on the bustling docks among the crowds, all set against the magnificent backdrop of fashionable and elegant Monaco.
