Deep blue skies, the surrounding hills, the twinkling city lights and the sight of hundreds of exclusive yachts nodding away in the gentle autumn breeze. Port Hercules was a sight to behold for yacht lovers last month, as they flocked in large numbers from the world over to set eyes on some of the best luxury yachts the industry has to offer.

The 23rd edition of the Monaco Yacht Show (MYS) held in the last week of September was a coming together of the world’s most significant luxury yachts, superyacht owners, brokers, yacht builders and designers. The show witnessed a spectacular unveiling of over 100 superyachts that are either available for charter or being exhibited to promote a shipyards’ expertise in new builds. Landmark yachts This year’s most significant and largest yacht was the 88-metre Quattroelle, built by the popular Lurssen yard. The yacht features huge volumes, a sumptuous self-contained owner’s deck, an extraordinary range of bespoke glassworks and different woods, an onboard art gallery and an enclosable outdoor seating area. The entire half deck is a dedicated self-contained private space for the owner and his family and includes a suite, his and hers bath, office and children’s cabins. At 80 meters, the Chopi Chopi is another
extraordinary vessel at the show. Built by Italian yard CRN, each guest cabin on board has its own outdoor area, the owner’s area has its own private hot-tub, and there is room for 33 crew members. The beach club covers 100 square meters, one of the biggest in the show. Also from CRN is the J’Ade, featuring a floodable tender garage with a side-opening hatch for easy hopping on board the tender
