2 years is a very long time in this business . Also it has been a very hard train ride June 5 2011 a little known R&B Artist by the Name of Kerri “CoCo Jones was featured on the first Issue ever of IAMU Magazine. Since then We are proud to say we have featured many more just like her. Those whom have had a dream and goals in life to become famous in the Music and entertainment industries. Our world has changed since 2011. Several other magazines have written articles about Chicago and its high crime wait, conveniently coming up with excuses on why these heinous murder crimes are now coming to national spotlight. Such tragedies has propelled us to ask one question why is there an excuse to take one’s life as young as an infant child. Just like we ask why quite when you are making slow and steady progress. Music and Life goes hand in hand. If you listen to rape music your more than likely to ape and harm another individual. If you listen music about peace and love you are more than likely going to love your neighbor. Just like the realities in life myself and my magazine has endured such challenges and rest assure that we have learned to over come such obstacles because of perseverance and understanding that quiting is not an option. rowing up in rural Florida, Kb da Boss developed an interest in music and its lyrical content at the age of eight when his Uncle Julian introduced him to Hip Hop. Listening to Andre 3000, Outkast, A Tribe Called Quest, Common, and Tupac were among his early inspirations. His appreciation for Hip Hop runs deep with it’s ability to evoke emotion, it’s “feel good, emotional real talk music” which gives voice
to messages of life’s lessons, feelings and the ability to connect to an audience on a personal level. “Hip Hop to me is the feeling that's put into music. Rappers sometimes just rap at you or around you, not necessarily to you and to me that classifies RAP music. It’s not just about girls, cars, and money” it’s about Kb da Boss sharing his emotions, and personal messages to his fan base. At the age of 24 Kb has been doing music since he was 17. The enjoyment of the art of lyrical expression through music is a key driving force for Boss, however, there is an underlying propensity to succeed. His goals, and musical
ambitions are directly linked to his daughter. Boss feels a deep-seated need to show her that hard work, dedication, and love of music are a driving force that cannot be deterred. His life lesson to her is that failure is not an option, to learn from each set back and keep moving through life with an end goal in sight. Passion for musical, and lyrical content expression, the love of his daughter, are the reasons that Kb da Boss eats, sleeps, and dreams of music. His goal is to write, produce, and explore all opportunities in the music world. In 2011 he started AMH Inc (All My Homies Incorporated) with a group of his musical piers and
has been on a rejuvenated musical tear every since. He will always represent the 352 area but is on a mission to build a foundation worldwide. www.amhink.com Facebook.com/kbdabossmusic Twitter.com/kbdaboss Instagram: Kbdaboss
IAMU:How are you doing? ---- I'm Good coolin' IAMU: Cool so what inspired you to want to pursue a music career? ---- Music for me happened sort of by accident. Was downloading music one day and accidently downloading some instrumentals, me and my friends decided to play around making songs on them. We recorded them on the Windows music recorder took them to school the next day and people loved them. I was addicted from there! IAMU: Where do you think your life would be with out hip-hop? --- I really don't know what i'd be doing otherwise, probobaly something dealing with art or www.iamumagazine.com
somthing since that was my first passion but it would certainly be less exciting without it.
----Honestly i haven't lol but i'm glad to say now i have been introduced.
IAMU: Do you consider your city a reflection of you or are you a reflection of your city?
IAMU: The best city that you have performed at to date and why may i ask?
--- I think both I'm from the country a small town outside of Ocala,Fl by the name of Lowell. Through my music you get a lot of southern hospitality in it, I'm a country boy at heart so that molded the way i approach a lot of things and the way i make songs. But i am more than just that I can be placed anywhere country city wherever and irepresent my town wherever i go. So i am a reflection where i come from but go back there and you will see how it is a reflection of me as well.
----The Best city to perform in would most definitely have to have been Key West. I performed at this event called the Goombay Festival last year and the people there were the most receptive to music in general that I have seen out of any crowd I have performed for. That was the most merchandise and music I have sold to a crowd of people ever. So much support and love definitely looking forward to doing that festival again.
IAMU: How do you feel to be featured in the Anniversary issue?
IAMU: Do you have any shout outs?
---- It feels good to have been contacted to be apart of this, that means i'm doing something right and am getting the attention of the right people. IAMU: it's been 2 years of publishing for us, have you heard of any mentions of our magazine in the past you could be honest our readers won't lynch you or maybe lol?
--- Big shout outs to my whole crew over at AMH Incorporated (John Q,Slymm, Y.P, Insight, Anna Marie) be on the lookout for all those artists, my homies Sucoo and Rezza (great artists). And shouts to you guys for hitting me up for this feature definitely appreciate it!

DJ Fred Malone
For over a decade DJ Fred Malone has been playing all type of events, parties, weddings, & clubs, everything you could think of. He started at a very young age and despite adversity & uncertainty in his family life, DJ Fred Malone stayed determined to master his craft. Now, In addition to DeeJaying, he works with underground rappers through his production company to help them get the attention they deserve. So how did it all begin? What made you want to become a DJ? I started at a young age, about 12yrs old. I grew up in a tough area with gangs, drive-bys, increasing crime rates and violence. Instead of hanging with the boys after school you could catch me in the basement mixing on the turntables. I had a mentor & teacher named DJ Stormy. I would see how other DJ’s were so into it whenever they were on the turntables, beat mixing, or being a hype man. Also, Seeing people having a good time with the music and the DJ being the main influence of it, made me want to DJ.. In May 2002, at 15 years old I stepped into the booth for the 1st time and ROCKED the show. I loved that feeling of make people have a good time. After the gig people came up to me & asked who I was and said “you rock” “you did your thing boy” and I thought to myself hmm, I might have something going on here. What’s the best event you’ve played at? Fuel Cyber Café, it was a very large club & could fit well over 400. It was 2007 and I was 19 at the time. It was a 21 and up club
so I was most likely the youngest one there. To this day I remember that because the club was set up to where I could look over every one. And as I played my set I was really going ham on the CDJs, people loved it. After awhile everyone just started chanting my name. It was a great feeling. It seemed like I could make the crowd do whatever. It was like I had them in the palm of my hand. We all had a good time. It stands out to me the most because that felt like the MOMENT that I arrived on the scene in a lot of people’s minds. My name was made that night. I’ve played several clubs in Houston Texas, Night Moves, Club Intense, Magics, & Club Fantasy. I’ve also played in Chicago, and other area’s.. I’ve also played at over 30 weddings and numerous basement parties and halls. What genres of music do you spin and on what equipment? I play all kinds of music. From rap, trance, top 40, rock, pop, country, oldies, whatever you ask for I will play. I was always taught the more you play the more venues you can open for. I use a Numark NS7. I was taught on Vinyl but never really got into it. I always was a CDJ type of dude. My 1st mixer was a Gemini CD dual layer from Radio Shack. I have over 10,000 CD’s and Mp3’s in my repertoire. How is the DJ scene in your eyes at the moment? It’s greedy for DJS. It’s like they don’t want to just help the artist anymore. It’s kind of like a rapper gives a tape to a DJ, and then the DJ is firing back saying here, listen to my mix tape as well. I understand everyone needs to get noticed but the thing is as the DJ your job is to let the streets know WHAT’S hot and what’s new. Are there any DJ’s out there that you
respect & would aspire to be compared to? DJ Scratch, DJ Kid Capri, Jam Master Flex, & DJ Screw to name a few. Tell us about your Production Business & some of the artists you’ve worked with. DJ Malone productions, was a DJ service that grew into a full production company. We produce songs, albums, & make beats. We host mix tapes and promote artists. I have a team of guys and we’ve worked with some notables such as F.O.E from Houston TX, & Kroosh from New York. People say “I get a good vibe” coming to DJ Malone Productions. The company serves the cities of Chicago, Kansas City, Houston, and surrounding areas. How can people check out your skills and connect with you? My mixtapes are on Coast 2 Coast and can be heard spinning on Urban Indie Radio-L.A. You can catch my Blog talk show “Malone’s Hype Line” Mondays Wednesdays Fridays at 930pm Central @www.blogtalkradio.com/dj_malone . I can also be reached through social
networking on twitter@ djmalonepro, &, facebook/ djmalonepro or my website http://www.dmpproductions. net. Media Inquiries to URBAN STARZ MEDIA & P.R c/o Lashaun Turner (951) 6658365

IAMU: so can you please tell our readers a little bout your self? TLC: About me: My name is Tammi L. Coles. I am an American living abroad in Berlin, Germany. Before moving abroad, I lived in Washington, D.C. and worked as a fundraiser for a national criminal justice advocacy group. It’s because of that work that I knew about issues like zero tolerance policies and the schools-toprisons pipeline. IAMU:Kiera Wilmot's case in Florida why was it such an big Concern for you? Where you furious or saddenly upset after after hearing the charges? TLC: I was shocked by what I read about the punishment unleashed on Kiera Wilmot and felt compelled to get involved. IAMU: what do you think it is that could have brought on such a detrimental judgement against a gil who many considers a great classmate and student. TLC: The worst effect of zero tolerance policies is the lack of discretionary judgment. Instead of taking into account a good student’s overall academic
performance, attendance records, achievements, and reputation among teachers and classmates, officials are encouraged to rely on abstract rulings, ie. if *this* infraction *that* consequence and without a sense of scale. “A firecracker sound and smoke” become “a bomb.” The result is lazy school administration -- instead of seeking nuance, understanding, and balance, school officials say “we’ll let the legal system decide,” the student’s future be damned. Sadly, because racism is a background player in most criminal justice policies, the statistics show that youth of color are disproportionately affected by these harsh policies. Kiera and her school walked into this very political maelstrom. IAMU: did you expect such a high response from people when you created her Facebook page? In creating the Facebook page, yes, I expected that there would be others who felt as indignant as I did and that they too would want to show how they felt if they could. I had never created a Facebook page before, but I knew that in doing so I was taking on the
responsibility to keep people informed. That meant reading the news and social media sites regularly for updates and reaching out to the others who were out there mobilizing their communities. (Scientists were also up in arms about this case, so there were a lot of them to contact.) IAMU: how did you feel when the police decided to drop her case? TLC: When I learned that the State Attorney’s office had decided to dismiss the pending case and to not file charges, I was thrilled. It’s bittersweet though -- they’ve made it conditional on Kiera’s participation in a so-called “diversion” program (something akin to community service) and, to my disgust, Bartow School officials have not officially renounced their own case. That means it is not yet clear if Kiera will be allowed to return to her school next year. IAMU: what do you feel should be next for Ms. Wilmot? TLC:So much has happened for Kiera. As of today, the legal fund launched by Angelle Wolf raised $8,052.77, Homer Hickam’s space camp scholarship for Kiera and her twin Kayla raised $2,645, and the petition call put out there by Maggie Gilman drew 195,297 supporters. The numbers more who called and emailed officials, protested online and in the streets -- well, those numbers are unknown but SURELY HIGH. I hope that she learns of all that has been done on her behalf and that she lets that inspire her own participation in civic discourse. We need more advocates for youth.
What is Next for you? TLC:As to me, well, I am glad to have done more than just rant about this case on the Internet. As they say, don’t agonize, organize! ••••••
Fortunately after much unnecessary debate and waste of tax payers dollars the D.A and Police decided not charge Ms. Wilmot with a crime. the School is still left with the decision of keeping her expulsion alive. What is justice without representation when Draconian laws are enforced at all times.
T
he Boston Marathon bombing brought on such a big scare to Americans that a Florida school decided to turn its self into the US Department of Homeland security. A 15 year old girl who’s love and curiosity for science was expelled for mixing the wrong types of chemicals. Which were none explosive and only caused some smoke? This was at best Screech from “saved by the bell” and one of his science mishaps. She was doing a presentation at a school science fair. You remember Florida the same state who is making it impossible to charge
George Zimmerman for killing a black teenager who was minding his business. The same state that allowed a white man to kill two black teenagers who he said they were playing there music too loud at a gas station. Now a county school district who want to make a young woman’s life a living nightmare by charging her with a felony. Shameful enough they expelled her for what an innocent mistake. Kiera Wilmot is considered a great student and wonderful classmate with no history of disciplinary problems. But this so called law of Zero Tolerance was twisted and manipulated by School board members who obviously needs to retire and kick the bucket if they’re going to live there life as members of a Jim Crow South Society reset.
Your teenage years are supposed to be filled with mistakes and mishaps. Even in science fairs so with that being said. There is a website set up to help Kiera Wilmot with her case. http://supportkierawilmot. archertc.com/who-is-behindthis-site/ https://www.facebook.com/ supportkierawilmot

Trapp Banks
~ Trapp Banks .:. The Artist Music is engrained in the culture of our community. For some, the talent comes easy. Such was the case with Trapp Banks, who found his passion and desire for music in the 6th grade. Growing up in Havana, Florida, his talent and singing ability was noticed early by the school’s Chorus teacher. His beautiful voice and Chorus experience lead to his enthusiasm for writing and thus poetry became his method of expressing his writing talents.
