Rob Stashiz

The Beginning of an era, not just in Philadelphia, but in hip-hop in general. Setting himself apart from his City of Brotherly Love counterparts, Rob Stashiz has decided to take the artistic route to success, rather than gaining notoriety as simply a battle rapper. After going through hardships that most will never experience (such as a fight with cancer in his teen years), Rob Stashiz has been able to channel his emotions to create some of the most profound music to hit Philly’s underground scene in a long time. A true master of his craft, he is more than typical rap bravado, Stashiz uses his trials and tribulations to fuel his art and doing so has resonated with all those who have heard his material.

He slowly would grind his way to success by getting his buzz single “Make Em Listen” played on 100.3 The Beat and capitalizing on that success by releasing “Class Be Seated” with Raw Deal Squad. His current mixtape, “This F’N Guy: Stashiz Brigante” has given him more success due to the great response he’s been getting for the quality of the music and the huge push that the lead isingle “Philly Anthem” has been getting at live shows and the recently-filmed video. The time has come for this proud father and amazing artist. Backed by his Raw Deal Squad family, Stashiz is ready to conquer the music world…The Stashman Cometh

Canadian Rapper

JoBlow

A

s a kid growing up in the suburbs of Toronto (the infamous Mississauga) Gregory Patrick Travers aka joBlow would fight the dreary daily life by spending his weekends deep inside the underground punk scene in Streetsville, Ontario at the time. The small venue off the corner of Main St. held home to such great Canadian bands as Billy Talent, Death from Above 1979 and illScarlett. It was also a home to joBlow as it was to countless other teenagers who would all pile in on Friday and Saturday nights to sweat it out to the awesome local bands. Even then he know how important the magic of “the show” really was. He started a punk band with friends and started to learn just what it took to perform and the time it takes to make a good show that people can identify and enjoy, just as he had to those before him. Sadly after performing a few shows at the same venue that joBlow had seen his idols play, the band split. As the magic seemed to be fading, joBlow packed up and headed to the big city of Toronto. After a few dark years in the underbelly of the city of Toronto battling drug addiction, homelessness and a failed dream, the hope for a future in music was dwindling. It was then that joBlow had attended a freestyle battle downtown. It was this that inspired him to begin writing again. Only this time he took his underground punk rock spirit and married it with a laid back, almost

old school reminiscent hip hop style. He began to participate in battles around the city and quickly began to see a vision for the future. joBlow packed his suitcase and guitar and headed West to recapture the dream he had once thought lost. On the via rail from Ontario to British Columbia, he began to write pages of lyrics. This was the beginning of what was to be the next two years. After settling in Vancouver, joBlow released his first album, a ten song digital download package titled ‘City of Destiny.’ which lyrically documented his move to Vancouver and the journey that followed. The album made an impact on the local underground hip hop scene which resulted in many shows supporting some heavy hitting acts including Bizarre from D12 and

End of the Weak MC Competition Western Canada Finals. He is most known however, for his street performing downtown Vancouver, free-styling positive lyrics to the public and once again tapping into the magic of “the show”.

Tre Nyce from Swollen Members, although still appearing in local underground shows such as the End of the Weak and Main Street Live series, performing at local venues such as the Cobalt, Fortune Sound Club, Joe’s Apartment, Shine Nightclub, Red Room and more. Now and days joBlow is a lot more clear headed, off drugs and focused on advancing his music to the next step. With songs from the debut album appearing on 102.7 fm, appearances at the Vancouver 420 festival, Hip Hop 4 Peace festival, and Occupy Vancouver festival as well as competing in the

Currently joBlow is working on his follow up album entitled Poor People Music which comments on his uphill climb through the underground hip hop scene. The album features appearances by a hand picked selection of artists including Grammy nominated artist Jonathan Emile. The album is set to release early 2013 and will be available for download at www.joblow.bandcamp.com and hardcopy versions at select stores. www.facebook.com/joblowmusic

I

ts August 21st, 2012 and Today is The day... At about 10 pm this evening, I will be performing on the same stage as some of the greats... How should I prepare? Am I prepared, are the thoughts running thru my mind. I head over to the laptop and pull up SOBs NYC on Youtube.. I watch Drake, Brianna the YRB, Iggy Azalea, Juvenille and a host of others as they rock the mic.. I watch the energy of the performers, I pay attention to the crowds, I look for crowd participation and I am satisfied. I can do this, and I am ready.... I say a quick prayer and begin to practice. I feel motivated, excited and anxious to begin the competition for Faces In The Crowd Showcase. As I head over to hair and makeup, im bombarded by telephone calls from well wishers and supporters!!! Nervous and excited, I feel wow this is surreal. This feeling is TOO amazing and I am ready to perform. As I style the wardrobe, Im making sure every little nook & cranny is up to par. In full artist mode, I am finally dressed and rdy to go. Its 2 hours away from showtime. I load up the vehicles and head out to pick up the Rudechick Nation. Everyone is full of energy, Paper Planes is blasting in our ears and the bottles are popped and rdy. We make our way onto the highway and head towards NYC. I sit in silence and think to myself, man am I blessed!!! We reach our destination at Varick St. The fans are EVERYWHERE & the entrance line is wrapped around the corner. My excitement turns into pure bliss. I sign in and head toward soundcheck. They call my name " Remy Cash" and I step onto the SOBs stage for the First time ever!! I cant even explain how I feel at this point, its like a dream come true. I finish up soundcheck and head towards the dressing room to get changed into my performance piece. Once dressed, I mingle with the fans, introduce myself to staff and judges. I thank my guest for coming out to support me and I wait to be called again.. Its the second quarter and Im a few names

away from being called. Moms loads up cameras, pics are being taken and I am introduced to Alpine Music Groups Justine Skye. She is very sweet and talked to me briefly about chasing goals. I head towards the back of the venue and who do I run into? Fred The Godson!!! Wowzers. I introduce myself and let him know that we would b performing at the same venue on September 22nd. Hes too cool and wished me lots of luck for the evening. What, a Good luck from Fred!! I am def rdy to get on stage. I pull my headphones out, press play on my music, and get into my zone!!! The place is beyond packed. I am 3 names

away from being called. & Then, It happens. Coming to the stage, Rudechick Remy Cash!!! Thats my cue.. Im rdy I take the stage. Introduce myself to the crowd as well as the judges. For the next 5 mins I kill it. Last song and I just reached a major accomplishment. I exit the stage and say Thank you to everyone for allowing me to complete my dream. I mingle with the crowd for another hour or so and I am finally ready to head on home. The whole ride back to Jersey, I float on air.. I rocked at NYC and I owned it!! Thanks to Chalant and Reality for giving me the chance. I trully wish I would have this moment for life, and I will.. Chasing My dreams and making them a reality!! -Rudechick Remy Cash

w

as Born and raised in Sydney Australia September 20th 1990. During my life I’ve experienced a lot of crazy things, It all started back when I was a young teen my pap’s left and my mum always worked nights so I never really had anyone looking after me. My older brother and sister where always doing their thing so I began hanging out with hoodlums and kids that turned to the streets. From the age 13 I started associating with the wrong types of people, chasing respect and always pulling stupid stunts along the wrong path. From a young age I was always fascinated in music and some of the first artists I listened to where the “Beastie Boys”. I remember jamming to classics on rage, and jumping around with Walkman’s and cd players back in the late 90s and early 2000’s. I started to write songs in 2008 when I was going through a rough patch in my life; I’ve always been influenced by

underground 90s beats and flows from the east coast. Just under two years ago I started networking and promoting other peoples music from all around the world, and just being myself and talking to all types of people. Although I can’t relate to a lot of things most rappers talk about, I’ve been through some things people wouldn’t want to have nightmares about, I spent two months in a facility, Although it was a traumatic experience, not only did it make me a lot stronger it made my heart grow fonder, I look up to a lot of people in this world, (Nelson Man-

dela, Bruce lee, John Lennon, George Carlin, Chris Lytle, Bob Marley, Ra the Rugged man.) to name a few. All these people changed the world in some way and had a strong message. My mum is by far the most important person to me, she saw me day in day out and never gave up on me, and she’s a very strong woman. My Aim in the industry is to send a message to people, that it’s not all for the cash, and not all for the fame it’s showing the world if you believe in god and yourself, People will believe in you. I thank my family and friends and people that are willing to listen, Support the movement. “Keep it 100, in a world that doesn’t.” – Whytail.

Born in Los Angeles, CA, HIPOST (pronounced Hi-Post) was raised in Long Beach, CA until his family moved to Culver City, CA. As a 4th grade music student, HIPOST realized his love of and talent for music. For two years HIPOST was a 1st chair cellist for the Long Beach All District Orchestra. It was at that time HIPOST first envisioned himself as a future musical force to be ‘reckoned’ with. After graduation from Culver City High School and subsequent to graduation from the Lee Strasburg School of Performing Arts, where he studied music composition and acting, HIPOST soon formed his first group known as“PI-DA-DE” (pee-da-day) with his best friend; a group of three rappers and a vocalist. The group soon thereafter captured the attention of recording giant EMI and inked a deal, but before the ink dried, the deal went sour due to label complications. Now solo with his first album completed, he is currently promoting his new single “SWAGG”, nationally thru the Cali’R Music Group label. He has toured extensively as the opening act for E-40, Too Short, Chris Brown, and Jamie Foxx, just to name a few. This seasoned ‘class act’ artist is MORE than ready for main stream exposure. Due to the void of positive imagery in the industry, setting and maintaining a positive image is paramount to HIPOST for the longevity and preservation of Hip-Hop for future generations to come. He not only appeals to the hip hop generation, but his debonair, sultry style of rapping has captured the hearts of the ‘seasoned’ generations alike.

Meet Tony Vaughn

H

ow often does a regular Joe like me get to meet a celebrity at a barbershop? Not often. We hear stories of those who faces are imprinted on TV but their committed to living a normal life as regular Joe. Meet Tony Vaughn AKA Col. Cleophus Jackson on the Tyler Perry TBS Sitcom “Meet the Browns”. IAMU got the chance to speak to the Burgeoning actor about his humbled beginnings and new found success.. As told to Antonio Lewinson…. IAMU: Mr. Vaughn how are you doing today? I'm fine, how are you? IAMU: i couldn’t be better sir, first things first Tony, I mean I can call you Tony right? Please IAMU: alrighty let me finish now, for all the At-Aliens out there who does not now please tell where you are from. I'm was born and raised right here in the ATL IAMU: So what was it like Growing up for you in those times? Well it was a serious education for me. A lot of it was scary, a lot of it was painful, there were so many different organizations and movements out then and they were all doing what they could to bring about social as well as economic change. IAMU: When did you know you wanted to be an actor? I guess the acting bug bit me some 30 plus years ago. I've always been the type to try and make people laugh; you know saying crazy stuff and acting silly. A friend of mine was attending a actors work shop, and she invited me to go with her one

evening, I went, I joined and there after I knew that's all I wanted to do. IAMU: Do you sing? I think i'm a better actor than singer. However I can hold a lil tune. IAMU: Ok cool did you play any sports? Growing up I played most sports, you know baseball, basketball, football. But baseball was always my favorite. IAMU: Even though there was a few black actors to really look up to but who was your favorite actor growing up. I always liked Sidney Poitier and James Earl Jones. They were my heroes. IAMU: when you were young you became the man of the house after your father passed away at 31. What made you decide to stand up like that? My father was a good husband, and good father, and a great role model. When he passed away at the early age of 31, I had know choice but to step up to the plate and do what was expected of me. And I was more than willing. IAMU: As the readers can see in the spirit of Cancer Awareness month you have a cancer survivor in your family how where you feeling when you first heard the news? My mother is a cancer survivor. When I got the news of my mother's diagnosis, I was numb. But I watched my mother and how her response was, it made me strong. She is a remarkable woman with serious strenght and faith, and I thank God every day for blessing me with her. IAMU: How is she doing now? She's stronger than ever. Still enjoying life, and not missing a beat in her shopping. IAMU: What would you have to say to someone who is going through this predicament now? Know that God loves you, and he's not going to put more on you than you can bear. Allow your faith to out weight your sight. And God has the last word.

IAMU: You play on Tyler Perry's "Meet the Browns" How did you get the role of Col. Cleophus Jackson? I had to audition for it. IAMU: When Mr. Perry cast for actors is he looking at the the person character in themselves or your ability to Act as the character? I think Mr. Perry as well as casting directors around, look for someone who can be convincing in whatever role they're trying to cast. And yep knowing what you're doing as an actor is only a plus. IAMU: How did you react when you first saw Madea in character? I saw his very first play I KNOW I BEEN CHANGED. I had heard of Mr. Perry, but had never seen his work. The first time I saw him walk on stage as Madea and starting talking,I lost it. Cause the projects I grew up in, there were a lot of Madea's. And it took me back. IAMU: Since the show aired do people recognize you on the streets right away? A lot of times it a double take, and then, have anyone ever told you, you look like the colonel on Meet the Browns? But then there are some that know who I am right away. IAMU: Can you share with us your funniest fan story, do folks come up to you start saluting? Stripping Please say stripping I'm playing I guess the funniest one was, this lady is such a fan and she recognized me and said she really loved my character and asked if she could take a picture with me, and of course I said yes. She asked her boy friend to take the picture, but he couldn’t take it because

she kept shaking and crying, he starting laughing, I starting laughing, and then she starting laughing. After about 5 minutes we took the picture. I usually get salutes from people who have served or still serving our country. Which is really cool? IAMU: OK so are you and the Colonel similar in any way shape or form? The colonel is very organized and disciplined. I beleive in organization and don't go against the grain to often. So I would say yeah in some ways. IAMU: Is there any future projects coming your way that people should know about? Yeah be sure to look out for 42 The Jackie Robinson Story which will be in theatres summer 2013. Yung Ivy -Really Started Music November of 2010 -22 years of age and reside in Stockton California -Rough life growing up....went to an all white school I was always picked on for being mixed. It wasnt until Middle school that I was surrounded be people of the same skin as I or that just Accepted me for who i was. Later on in life I went on to Graduate from Cesar Chavez High School and Attend Delta College the following year. Sadly 2 weeks after my 18th birthday July 7th 2008 My Father suffered a massive stroke resulting him in being in a coma for 3 mouths. When he awoke Doctors told me he would never have a normal life and that His Memory Fades in n out......sometimes I vist and he cant remember his own son. Not only that but his still at High Risk of another stroke that can result in his Death. My father was a hard workin man and always been in my life and for that i will be eternally grateful. How the Music Started 2 years after the Incident I had moved in with my mother and her Boyfriend. In fact it was her boyfriend that got me started. Sometimes I would make a Beat or Fool Around Rapping and he would always say I Have potential that most of these other artists Dont posses and that I Should Look into it. So I did,and that following November in 2010 and Called one of my Closest friends with an idea to start an Group/Entertainment and we told each other if it didnt work out that we would just forget about it. I.C.L.|Entertainment is Born I hithed an idea that the group should be call N.C.C.L. (Niggas Can Care Less) but my buddy recommended we shouldnt call it that due to Inappropriate Word in the name we couldnt really go live wit a title like that so we switched it to I.C.C.L. (I Could Care Less). Its sounded way more appropriate that the name before it. But even with that it sounded off...so we removed an “C” and thus I.C.L. was founded. Now of course we needed a bio of what it stood for.....so after a long say of thinkin I have came together to create this Bio Explaining what I.C.L. stands for: I.C.L. is a Multi-Group of Rappers/Singers/Dancers/Modeling.The Concept is that I.C.L.(I Could Care Less) what anyone has to say about your passions or dreams.I.C.L. is tellin all the haters out there that no matter what they say or do...you could care less about thier negitive opinons beacuse you are a strong individual that belives they can achieve thier dreams despite what all the haters are gonna try n do,say,or think about your performance cuz in the end its I.C.L(I Could Care Less)...The Movement is a fan group that helps the ICL Rappers/Singers wit background dancing n Model for fan pics, also in getting the word out about upcoming events.ICL is not your typical group of Rappers like all this other ones that only talk bout Money,Drugs, and sex, although some songz may contain some of the subjects. Not only do we wanna be an influence to adults but children too.THE MOVEMENT is also for people who suffered being made fun of about an idea that person may of had like Modeling/Dancing/Rapping etc.So the people in the group understand completly what the Members of I.C.L. Are Tryna do... After All the Concepts have been made a New Year has just begun as we enter 2011. 2011 you could pretty much say was our year to get the word out n mobilize who we are n to get noticed. That year I started a Group on FaceBook Called “The I.C.L. Mov3ment” A place where anyone of any talent can go to network and just feel comfortable about what it is their doing with worrying if someone is going to give Bad Negitive Hurtful Feedback. From that I Manged to Build the Mov3ment up to 11,000+ Fans and Supporters Nationwide.......Over 3000+ Followers on Twitter in a Month and a half frame.

Yung Ivy

The I.C.L. Crew Many Members have been in and out due to drama that they brought or lack of motivation. The I.C.L. Team Came out wit our 1st Mixtape Titled “Its The Mov3ment” with all the artists in the crew witch at the time where Yung Ivy (Me) Kid Ill , LadyAiks , Legoz , Young Taylor , Bebby aka L’B with Features from RDee- Stockton Cali Ace The Activst- Stockton Cali Paris - L.A. Cali Dasiey - Stockton Cali From there we ventured out all over Stockton , Modesto , San Francisco , Sacramento , and L.A. to Push our Mixtape out. since the really we really say that we are gettin well known only funny part is that we had Never performed before. We have had many Gigs lined up....but as fate would have it something always went wrong to where it was ca nceled. Where the Problems Came In: After the Mixtape release in February 2012 Problems within the crew started to happen. Long story short due to the Incident the crew had broken all the way down to the original 5 people Yung Ivy ( Me) Legoz , LadyAiks , Bebby L’B and Kid Ill. with that said LadyAiks was our Photographer , and Legoz was Our Promoter. So as far as Music artists its was only 3 Me , Kid Ill , and Bebby..... Little to my knowledge was i did not know that bebby would take leave to seattle for the whole summer pretty much resulting us down to a duo.....Me & Kid Ill......I wasnt really sure what to do next......but everyone i talk to always say “Ivy you have the talent alone to make it to the top.....the crew is only holding you back from greatness....you should go solo n we guarantee you would go much farther. The Lone Artist “Yung Ivy” The Month that has just passed here in 2012 “July” I had talked to the remaining crew members about my Leaving and without a dought they all agreed that it was best n that they would be behind me 100% so now you could so there my promoter and what not. yes we will still do music together but since i barly became solo these passed weeks i have come across many connections and find myself workin with many different artists from west to east coast from Oakland , L.A. , Local , to New York , New Jersey , Pittsburgh , Phoenix. Rodney McBride CEO n Founder of McBride ENT has offered to Sign me after He Returns from doin Business. for the sort time i have been solo i have experience 10x the Exposure than when we were a crew. My Mission as an Artist To show that you can truly come from nothing and make anything possible. Not only that but I am one of a Kind. Reason I say that is because My voice cant be matched.....seriously no one can pin point it.....i dnt sound like anyone and i dnt rap like anyone...I Sound n have my own style therefore I am my own person my own style and my own voice.....I lookin to make a difference in the industry music today is getting outta control i mis the days in the 90s when music was music....to be honest i have no clue what the future holds

I began my life as a second child of my mother who was my sisters and I’s sole provider, north of Seattle, in Everett County General Hospital. I am a mother to the most wonderful ten year old boy on the planet, Jalen, so I know just how hard it can be raising a child on your own. Jalen is the center of my life and heart. He completes who I am as a person and keeps me grounded and reminds me daily what life is truly about. He is my biggest accomplishment thus far. My mom became ill with fibromyalgia, when I was young, and since has had other complications , including beating two kinds of cancer , she is strength, Much love and respect to my mom, she has made me who I am today. I’m attending the College of Western Idaho I am majoring in Business Management; My hope is to open my own retail shop .I intend to finish my Bachelor’s and maybe even my Masters. I decided to try out modeling. I had thought about it but never acted on it. I attended a model call in the final 5 minutes here in Boise. I’ve modeled in a couple of shows and performed in a burlesque show with a group of other beautiful women, we had a blast. I was nervous because it was the first time I had danced. I have been in a couple of different runways, and just some freelance modeling to build my portfolio, now IAMU Magazine. I feel blessed to be so lucky. I currently work for Citi. It was my ten year anniversary at Citi this past March, I have had different positions in the company, and my current position is a Risk Specialist III in Credit Operations. I never thought I would have made it through training much less for ten years.

Every day is a blessing .I try to be as humble and positive in every opportunity and give the glory to the sky. I like volunteering for my community I have been involved with habitat for humanity , the local food banks , Paint the Town, and at my sons school , at least every couple months. orn in York, Pennsylvania at York Hospital on March 22, 1988, Tim Sweeney Jr, (Eney) would consider himself the Martin Luther King Jr of the music industry. Raised by his wonderful father and stepmother Eney is an individual from a small town with BIG dreams. Striving to show the younger generation that you can do anything you put your mind to and that hard work pays off. Moving to Norfolk/ Virginia Beach, Virginia as an infant is where Eney spent his elementary years. Eney and his family spent most of their childhood in poverty/middle class apartments. “I remember walking with my stepmother passing used crackpipes and crackheads on my way to school because the area was too bad for the bus to pick us up,” Eney says. “Mira Mar Apartments was definitely not a good place to raise children so that’s why we moved out of there as soon as we could,” he adds. So Eney and his family moved to Andover Apartments on Little Creek Road. This is where he discovered an amazing gift in writing poetry at Larrymore Elementary School, but it was overlooked because he excelled in organized football and basketball for the Little Creek Gators. Eney was always one of the best players on the team, and everyone thought that being a professional athlete was his destiny. Over the next few years Eney and his family never had a stable home. They moved to Indian River Road in Virginia Beach, Virginia where he attended Indian Lakes Elementary. Shortly after that, they moved back to York, Pennsylvania where he attended Ferguson Elementary. Then they moved all the way down to Ocala, Florida with his father’s brother where he attended Greenway Elementary and Lake Weir Middle School. Finally, Eney and his family finally found a home in Wildwood, Florida where he attended Wildwood Middle and High School. They finally have a place they can call home because Eney’s parents has been living there since 1999. After graduating in honors, Eney later on enrolled at USF in Tampa, Florida in 2007. Where he currently lives today.

Wildwood is where Eney’s poetry gift excelled to the next level. In middle school, he participated in an event called the history fair where students had to complete either an 1,500 word essay, a poster board, or a performance. Eney chose a performance and wrote a song called “Can You Imagine” which was about the american revolutionary war. He performed in the gym in front of the majority of the school and won first place in the performance category. Since then he had the confident to pursue writing music and later on starting performing rap songs at pep rallies acting as artists such as Nelly The entire middle school starting recognizing his talent also. Inspired by his older brother Narrio Gibbs (Blaze), Eney tried to be just as good as him. He was an amazing songwriter and freestyler and still is till this day. Blaze and his friends collabed on a song called “Choppas” and it was buzzing all over the streets of Wildwood. In Eney’s eyes, they were the originators. “I remember going through my brother stuff and stealing his instrumentals as he played outside,” Eney says. “And freestyling around the house about peanut butter & jelly sandwiches or whatever was around just to get better, and asking my brother how my songs sound,” he adds. Eney’s brother always said “YEA ITS STRAIGHT BRAH KEEP WRITING” and that’s EXACTLY what Eney kept doing. Eney smiles and says, “After years and years of writing songs and freestyling around the house, you eventually get good at it.” Eney then started freestyle battling during lunch in high school. He later then started recording music with his older cousin Ciseroe Freeland (Malign), Blaze his older brother, and Rod Porter (FireKraka), at the age of 15. Tupac and Kanye West were also Eney’s inspiration. He combines the two and uses them as the blueprint of his rap career. Close friends have also compared him to hip hop superstars like Ludacris, Lil Wayne, and Drake. As you listen to him you will definitely hear some similarities on particular songs. Eney also compares himself to Jamie Foxx because whether he acts in movies or makes music or has his own show, he feels he will excel in anything he does. Some people tend to think Eney is cocky or arrogant but once you get to know him you will realize he is confident yet humble. With a stunning stage presence, Eney has shut down local events in colleges, clubs, hotels, etc. With perfomances in Tampa, Florida at Legends Sports Bar, Hyatt Resort, USF, etc, he leaves a wonderful impression on whoever has witnessed him perform. Locals demand an encore. After performing Eney says, “this is just the beginning, I have a long way to go. I’m never satisfied because there’s always room for improvement.” And nothing keeps him motivated more than his family and loved ones. Nothing will make Eney happier than buying the dream house for his parents and seeing the smile on their faces. That is what keeps Eney going. With his mind finally made up on exactly what he wants to be in life, Eney is definitely a musical force to be reckoned with. “With great talent comes great responsibility.” You will not be disappointed!

Ameerah A. Rahman

Favorite quote is: “Fear not what others think or say, because at the end of the day, You are the true writer of your Story” That is the Motto, I live by daily, and encourages others to do the same. I write to inspire, and empower others; my riveting stories of faith, hope, love, and Empowerment are very compelling, and astounding. I realistically narrate stories that depict the lives of Muslims in America, in the times of crisis, love, Fear, Death, and Chaos. I draw my readers in with an eloquent style, charisma, and deep insight to Muslims in Americas lives. My Target audience is young adult - Adult readers, I remember well growing up and not having Novels to read that I could truly relate to as a Muslim young girl growing up in America. My diverse life experiences have helped me capture the stories that are not often told, of faith and courage during times of test and trail from God. I went to school for early childhood education, social work, and business Administration. The field that I enjoy most is Self Esteem Building and Empowering skills. In today’s society many of things skills have been watered down and forgotten, so I feel in order to give our children better futures it is up to us to empower them to be our future leaders. edrick Keesee aka KSpade doesn’t call himself an R&B singer. He is A vocalist whose depths reach more than just rhythm and blues, Because of that he is able to dabble in all genres. When Spade is writing, a feeling inspires him and then the melody just seems to hang in the air. This is perhaps why it’s so easy for K-Spade to afflict the soulful vocal arrangements that rival groups like Jodeci (who he cites as an influence) that are responsible for making babies and creating wedding tears. When Spade was a little boy, he would rap but never took it seriously because of his love for

singing. “When people see me, they think I’m about to rap,” the Arcadia, Louisiana native seems to get this a lot. KSpade began singing in his late teens and entered a local talent show. It is his rendition of love ballad “Can You Stand the Rain” that he claims launched his singing career. Shortly after, he joined the group Fifth Element, and was soon signed to B-Town Records, opening for acts such as Jon B, H-Town, Gerald Levert, and Keith Sweat, amongst others. A few ups and downs in the industry found him taking the solo route. Now he’s using his solo status to bring the sound of real love back to music. K.Spade1@yahoo.com

ew York, New York (September 6, 2012). Landing in New York at approximately 4:00 pm on Friday, August 31st from a 6 city Japan tour, there was very little time for Christopher Martin to unwind or even rest. Instead he was scheduled to perform at one of the biggest Reggae shows in New York known as Hot97 Reggae Tip. Arriving at Hammerstein Ballroom at 1:00am, Christopher Martin was ready to perform. Like a true star he took time out to take photos with fans and members of the Hot97 family. As he made his way to the stage he was greeted by fellow co-workers in the business; Konshens, Baby Cham, and Mr. Vegas just to name a few. It was now showtime and the sold out Hammerstein Ballroom were ready for the next artist. The fans began screaming as the lights dimmed, you heard a soulful, melodic accapella voice coming from backstage and the ladies were hysterical. Christopher would enter the stage singing his recently released song "Carpenter". As he entered the stage, the crowd was rocking hands waving and he would hit them with song after song. Each song received great crowd response as they sang along with Christopher, but it was "Cheaters Prayer", which received the first forward

of the night at Hot97 Reggae Tip. It was now off to Atlanta where Christopher was scheduled to headline the annual Reggae Jam concert. With another stellar performance the Atlanta crowd , moved and sang every song. At the end of his performance the crowd requested an encore performance and he fulfilled their wish. It was now time for Christopher Martin to head back to New York for two more scheduled shows. On Sunday, September 2, Christopher Martin was back in New York and ready to hit the biggest Hip Hop and R & B radio station in New York, Hot97. He was accompanied on air with Konshens, Mr. Vegas and the Doctor Beenie Man who were all interviewed by Hot97 Massive B; Bobby Konders and Jabba. Shortly after leaving the radio station Chrstopher Martin was on stage performing at the

5th annual 5 Alarm Blaze hosted by Mr. Cee. The sold out crowd at Webster Hall was anxious to see Christopher and he was prepared. Changing his set and openning with a more uptempo song "Vibes Right", he had the audience swaying in unison. As he continued the crowd would become ignited once he sung "Paper Loving" and call on the verteran DJ Red Fox. Christopher would seal his performance with a crowd favorite "Cheaters Prayer". Now it was off to Massive B Labor Day Shutdown at BB Kings Live in New York City and Christopher Martin was ready. Performing infront of another sold out crowd Christopher had the ladies screaming from beginning to end. It would be another solid performance, with "Cheaters Prayer" being the crowds favorite. Receiving thunderous screams after singing "Cheaters Prayer" for the second time, it was only evident that Christo-

pher had to give another encore performance. Now back in Jamaica, Christopher Martin gears up for another performance on Saturday September 8, where he is scheduled to headline at West Indian Social Club. When asked about the past three weeks on the road Christopher said, "Its a job I love and music is my life. My fans make everything possible, so big up to all my fans and my longtime suppporters and to the new fans welcome aboard, Si Martin Yah".
