by Homebwoi Fi as posted on his facebook Artist don't get fooled with the email list scam. I have doing music on a professional level for over 10 years now. Allow me to break this thang down... 1. The music industry is a small community. The real key players are not plentiful. So when these online promoters tell u they can send your music to 750 A&R's, know that 90% of them are small fish & don't make the call on signing you. 2. Imagine how many emails A&R's get on a daily basis. They do the same thing you do when you see emails from people you don't know about artist you've never heard of... SPAM!!! 3. Understand that this is a BUSINESS. No matter how good you think you are. If you're not POPULAR. They won't take a chance on losing money on an artist they don't know will sell or not. 4. If you're going to the record labels trying to get a deal & they're not blowing your phone up. You can get a record deal but your deal will be straight shit! 5. Focus on your own company. To do this you must be willing to pick up a book & learn the basics. Just cause u got a few thousand dollars don't mean you gone do shit if you don't know where to put it. #DoYourHomework

randon B-May Maynard The Great Singer/Songwriter And R&B/Pop Prince of Point Blank Recordings Often compared to the legendary Michael Jackson at an early age with soft melodic tones, B-May remains humble and is one of the hardest working recording artists in the country. Brandon Maynard was born on October 22, the only child to Jerry and Harriett Maynard who lived in a quaint one story home in Garland, TX. In his earlier years, Brandon participated in everything from choir to sports, easily dominating his peers through hard work and commitment. Like any other child, Brandon was not perfect. In elementary school, Brandon talked a lot, sometimes to the point of the teacher sending notices home to his parents. To remedy this, Brandon’s father Jerry kept his only son busy with basketball, baseball and football. The young competitive athlete earned numerous trophies in baseball while concurrently attending basketball camp during summer breaks.
In middle school, Brandon looked for new challenges to conquer. Basketball, football and baseball remained a priority while, band and track were added to an already intense schedule. Brandon collected an MVP award in basketball, played a saxophone that brought him to the all city band and enhanced his vocal repertoire through various choir functions. He made the varsity basketball team as
interest in basketball during his junior year of high school and decided to replace this activity with a more concentrated effort at making music. Shy but willing to pursue the challenge, Brandon studied Soulja Boy Tell Em, specifically the route chosen to propel the now famous rapper a short time prior. Excited at the prospect of exploring this new option, Brandon toyed with the preinstalled Microsoft Windows music programs on
a freshman in high school, continued playing baseball and maintained superior grades much to the satisfaction of his parents. In his sophomore year of high school, Brandon reconnected with a friend Jamo who also rapped and predicted they would eventually do songs together. He dismissed this notion as basic conversation, not actually believing it would happen. As time went on, Brandon began to lose
his home computer. Rapping seemed easy enough to the B average student, who wrote countless songs upon completing the required school work and chores. Brandon became B-May, a way to recognize his first initial and last name, but still doubted the overall concept of becoming a recording artist. B-May knew first hand that his father Jerry would not approve of his only son flirting with anything other than education and sports, so he
decided to keep it secret. Frustrated, confused and excited, B-May mentioned his ideas and doubts to a classmate, James who completely understood his friend’s dilemma. James convinced B-May to pursue his goal, and went further to entice his friend to try singing live, for a small group that gathered moments earlier in their history class to rap as the class ended. Nervous as everyone looked on, B-May delivered a smooth, soulful sound that captivated the small audience. Later that year during summer break, B-May met with childhood friend Jeremy and with this new found desire to record, the two went on to form a group called “Cool Breeze”. They learned as they went along for the most part as B-May grew more comfortable singing in addition to rapping. The group leased music from Sound Click, built a makeshift studio at B-May’s home in Garland inside of a small closet. B-May and Jeremy ripped insulation out of the cushions of an old sofa, padding the walls to make them soundproof. They added their material to rapidly growing Myspace as soon as each song was completed. This went on for several hours a day, generally three days
a week and throughout their senior year in high school. Satisfied with a strong friendship and mutual interest in music, the two agreed to attend the same college and fortunately ended up sharing the same dorm room. Never the one to back down, B-May entered college full steam, with an intention to study biology, in addition to full time music recording. This proved tremendously difficult, nevertheless, the artist inside flourished. He reconnected with Jamo to record their smash hit single, “I Got It”, the song collaboration predicted
years earlier that B-May had completely dismissed. B-May continues to record, in some cases, until four a.m. to ensure quality with each of his masterpieces. In addition to recording and school, B-May retained a suitable following on Myspace, Facebook and Twitter which is where an unexpected conversation took place that changed everything. On or about November 7, 2009, B-May tweeted his usual promotional tagline for
followers to listen to a newly released mix tape when someone commented on his music, using the name “ImpactWorldwide”. The two spoke of music, the other individual introducing himself as Jonathon A Sisco, who started an indie label called Point Blank Recording, owned by a larger marketing, management and consulting company named Impact Worldwide Entertainment. Cautious of a scam involving management years before, B-May initially chose to keep Jonathon at a distance, but within the first few months, both shared a mutual respect for one another. The artist would go on, with Sisco’s blessing, to create his own label, Cool Breeze Inc composed of long time friends Franko and J-Bright. An excellent songwriter, B-May intends to secure a lucrative deal through Point Blank Recordings/Impact Worldwide Entertainment and has found great success in his newest single titled, “Where Did You Go” released February 2013, while Cool Breeze cementes a strong presence online and through performances throughout Texas. IAMU: what made you want to be an Artist? Actually, I didn't ever want to be. I use to doodle in school a little. I did one of those infomercial art things. Where they send a pamphlet and you draw the characters they have and then select you to be in an art school. I did it and they actually came to my parents house to recruit me. My parents didn't have the money to do it, so I didn't! After that, I stopped all together. I never blamed them for not having the money because it was six of us and money wasn't just laying around. I felt my actual gift was music. I'm a percussionist, I've been playing since as a kid. I went from there to playing the piano and producing music for HipHop and R&B artist. Just recently I started back drawing. In December I was looking at an old portrait of my companions parents. Its that old oil self portrait most African American families have in their homes. I thought I should pick up the pencil again and create but as I was web surfing, I seen this video on Youtube called Vector Inking in Adobe Illustrator. I did a few tutorials and Bomb, here I am.

Tweet us @IAMUUrban IAMU:what inspires you to be creative when your ready to draw? I'm inspired by everything Urban. Fashion, movies and even music. Even when I see random people where ever I am , I catch myself staring at them. The way the light hits a persons face and changes the tone of their face, makes me want to just start drawing. It's weird, I know but that's what does it. IAMU: what's next for you, can we expect you to be the next Stan Lee? Stan Lee is dope, but I was never a comic book kid or superhero lover. Although I did enjoy Cartoon Network as a kid and badly wanted to figure out how they made these pictures move and flow. So, recently I decided to take up animation from Animation Mentor. It's a great program for rookie animators. But what's next for me is children coloring books. Basically, taking family pictures and creating a coloring book containing their own photos to color.

ave you ever asked your
self what are my kids listening to when it comes to rap lyrics ? honestly i grew up a fan of hip-hop but i never really liked rap!!. the Mc’s that stood out to me back in the day was KRSOne, Public Enemy, Big Daddy Kane, Nas,2pac, Big L and of course Biggie Smalls..
Not all of today’s rap artist can match up to the legends that hip-hop produced but what they are say is driving me crazy for real. We as parents are already fighting to keep our children from joining the destructive part of society but then here come this crap about popping molly’s. what is molly is a white gir they having sex with? might as well call it that because it is Xstacy at it’s purest form.. What’s the big deal? remember crack in the 80’s... angel dust in 2 Chainz, on Nicki Minaj's "Beez In The Trap" the 90’s and Meth in the 2000’s "Got your girl on Molly and we smoking loud now for the next decade african and drinking." american community’s will be Ace Hood, "I'm filled with idiots on the molly? Fucked Up" because some of these artists "Them bitches assed make it seem cool to be caught out, Molly pop, they up on this drug. Next time you all bi." think little johnny reciting the lyrics is cool ask yourself what am i really teaching my child?
Chris Webby, "I'm Gone" "Molly and some acid tabs, yep, that is the right dose."
French Montana, "Molly" "Now you know I'm on that Molly, I'm not trying to poly."
Gunplay, "M1" "Every Molly got my body feeling like I'm out of body."
Danny Brown, "Die Like A Rockstar" "Shot of Hennessy, spike that with some Molly."
Gucci Mane, "Trap Back" "Got your little sister on the Molly."
Kanye West, on G.O.O.D. Music's "Mercy" "Something 'bout Mary, she gone off that Molly."
As
far back as I can remember I have been some degree of fat: chubby, obese, chunky, pudgy, etc. I’ve always bargained and made comprises with myself about the day I would turn it all around; “okay if I gain 5 more lbs, its time to do something about this!” “Oh boy, basketball season is coming up and it would be just my luck I get picked to be on the “skins” team again” “if I get any stretch marks on my stomach, that’s definitely the last straw”. Well, time passed, the stretch marks came, I got older and fatter and started to accept that this was who I was I’d just have to live with it. So I live with it is what I did for 27 years! In 2008, a perfect storm of events sparked the change I needed to begin my fitness journey: 1. My dad was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes. I had been a lot of routine checkups in 27 years of life and my doctor would always say the same thing “you could stand to lose a few lbs”. Up until that point the extent of my health issues
“okay if I gain 5 more lbs, its time to do something about this”
was mild asthma. His words would always fall on deaf ears…I was healthy as an ox in my eyes. But this new tid bit of family history, coupled with my moms existing high blood pressure and high cholesterol now presented a less promising future if I continued in the same direction. My doctor told me that it wasn’t a matter of if something could possibly develop, but when and what. I was tipping the scales at 325lbs at that point. 2. I was the father of a 6
year old little boy with the energy of a bag full of jumping beans. Well, one day he asked if we could go outside to play, nothing new and of course I would of much rather of done anything else but get up and move, but “Come on son!” Well, if the energy wasn’t enough, he was also very competitive “Dad I bet you I can beat you in a race…” Me: “Sure, I’ll even give you a head start” EPIC FAIL. He dusted me! I was officially Fat Dad! 3. But it was an arbitrary trip to the local gym Oct 1, 2008 with a good friend of mine that really changed everything. I was really only there for moral support, I had never been in a gym, didn’t know anything about the gym and definitely didn’t intend on joining a gym. I had already started to lose quite a few lbs, simply changing my eating habits, but it wasn’t structured and like many time before I would of probably ended up quitting or falling back on bad habits. So reluctantly, after a little persuasion and price adjusting I joined. I walked into
the gym that day at 295lbs and one year to the day, I walked out of that same gym 105lbs lighter. It felt like I blinked and what I had convinced myself for 27yrs would never happen was done. All that remained were battle scars of 27yrs of procrastination, broken promises to myself and fear. I tell people all the time, the feeling you feel when you achieve a life long dream is something that can not be expressed in words, you can only experience it for yourself. For the past 3yrs since my transformation, that has become my passion. It’s a feeling I want everyone in the world to be able to experience at least once in their life. I’ve used my transformation to motivate others to start, restart, recommit, rededicate and strive to achieve their weight loss and fitness goals. And the journey continues‌ I now promote Health & Fitness products. I've started bootcamp groups, I've trained friends, I answer emails from anyone who'd like know what has worked for me and I run an accountability group on Facebook. My short term goals is to become a certi-

who wants to live like this.. to be honest them terrorists need to re educate themselves and leave regular folks like our selves alone. Why they want to blow unnnessary things when they came aim their anger at oil refinearies or oil company offices too. unless their stealing gas more so they are then they too need to be terrorized because; oil companies got us enslaved to their high gas price reasoning hook.. What is our solution to this problem... BoyCott their asses. not for a day not for 5 days. lets boycott for one month, maybe 2 months hell even 3 because our car is a convience not a luxary. i know your not gonna boycott because you don’t want to be inconvienanced.. So let’s be clear cut down on your usage of gas. Start using Public transportation more. 2 Car pool more.. 3 use other means to get around like bike or just walk.. to be successful it has to be a group effort not just one individual. last but not least use your car only when necessary.
