“This course really allowed me to concentrate on the legal areas that I was interested in. It also proved to be the ideal stepping stone in allowing me to obtain entry into the LLB and the Diploma in Legal Practice programmes, as the course covers a lot of The Law Society of Scotland recommended subjects. The lecturers are approachable, innovative and pragmatic and are always ready to share their profound wealth of knowledge with you.”

Our LLB Law course is accredited by The Law Society of Scotland and we ensure that your future career is at the forefront of our courses by teaching professional and transferable skills. We work in conjunction with employers to ensure you have the breadth of knowledge required for your future career.

Our class sizes ensure staff are able to provide you with one-onone support and our courses are structured to allow you to tailor your degree, allowing you to specialise in the areas that interest you. We are committed to providing you with the best learning experience and offer flexible learning routes including online and on-campus study options, and some of our courses offer the opportunity to study abroad with our partner institutions across the world.

Our active Student Law Society runs a number of events with an academic and social focus. These, combined with successful networking events throughout the year, will help strengthen links with the local profession and offer you the opportunity to socialise with your peers outside of the classroom. We have an on-campus Moot Court which allows you to experience the protocols of a real court and demonstrate your legal knowledge and skills. You will have the opportunity to join the University Mooting Society and take part in the Granite City Moot, where RGU and the University of Aberdeen go headto-head in an annual competition. To further develop your realworld skills and support our local community, we run a Law Clinic which is made up of a group of students, academic staff and qualified solicitors to provide free, confidential and independent legal advice to those who would otherwise be unable to afford a solicitor.

“My experience on the LLB has been life-changing. The teaching staff at the Law School and the class structure gave me the ability to succeed. The small class sizes gave me confidence to contribute in discussions. I progressively realised my potential and acquired skills that I did not realise that I could achieve, such as through class presentations. I am now studying for my LLM in International Law and continue to build on these skills.”
