Early Years Learning Opportunities
Fun to Learn
Our EYFS sessions take place within DIG and make full use of all areas of the museum, including the garden, early years’ area and our specially recreated digging pits (with safe and cleanplay soil) where the children can handle genuine artefacts from 2000 years of York’s history. Each session includes storytelling and a craft activity, as well as games and object handling, which are all themed around your chosen topic. The content and structure for the sessions has been designed in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, providing lots of opportunities for skills development through engagement and play.
