jorvik viking centre
Make an exclusive visit to one of the most famous and astounding discoveries of modern archaeology. Take your guests back 1000 years to the Viking city of Jorvik, where they will be able to mingle with our resident Vikings and experience life in Viking-age York. This world-class attraction is available for exclusive evening hire and is an extraordinary location for canapé or finger buffet receptions.
Barley Hall
Barley Hall is one of York’s most secret hidden treasures. This reconstructed medieval townhouse is rich in culture and class with its beautiful beamed ceilings and stunning period features. This venue has an intimate setting with a grand atmosphere making it the ideal venue for your special event. Perfect for corporate and private events or parties, business meetings, birthday parties or even your very special wedding day. Barley Hall is available for exclusive hire throughout the year.
DIG
Our archaeology based attraction, DIG, is housed in the medieval building of St Saviours Parish Church. With stonework dating back to 1363 and crafted by the same medieval masons as the York Minster, DIG provides a distinctive venue for your special event. DIG is available for hire throughout the year and is a fantastic setting for business meetings, lunches and birthday parties.

Set on the doorstep of York Minster, this beautiful historic building offers an amazing venue for a Christmas visit within a traditional festive setting. Tired of uninspiring venues? The JORVIK Group provides functional spaces with stunning atmospheres for your daytime event. Our venues Barley Hall and DIG are available for daytime hire and can offer you meeting rooms or lunch spaces for a maximum of 20 people during the day. Barley Hall is a truly unique venue for your wedding reception and evening celebration, a medieval building situated on the doorstep of the York Minster, in the heart of historic York. This exceptional house offers you the opportunity to set your celebration within a rich and sumptuous atmosphere created by beamed ceilings, flickering candle light and medieval ornamentation, guaranteeing wonderful memories for a lifetime. The Hall offers a range of catering and drinks packages to suit every requirement, whether that is a welcome drink, a traditional buffet, a fully themed medieval banquet or a combination of ideas.
