Recent researches on urban housing under planned economy has concentrated on the social-spatial production, except for a disapproval of the monotony, in regard of their visual quality brought about though design and construction. Although at that time, the appearance of building was always subordinated to economy and attainability, we should not underplay the role of “good appearance in housing practice, for how these residential buildings appear today is largely depended on

Jan. - Apr. 2009
A market, appartment building, and a small park. The task was to solve the problem of the possible confliction between newly-built hybrid buildings and original residential buildings both in their and facility competition. Located on a ordinary site of the city, I was inspired by an wierd condition of space occupation, there’s green area within the site but it ownership was from outside. So we’re
designing something the user of the complex cannot used. This stimulated us to invent brand new layout and new relationship among the appartment, the market and the residential buildings. Just like the reflection of the grass on the stainless glass celing of the market, the living in both appartment and the residential area were projected into each other.
